For the loose joint issues, I think you should try using pistons. But you should totally make this a frame! That thigh swivel is so creative, and the idea to make the torso stronger is so smart!
i would, but the set didn’t come with pistons or anything I can think of to use comfortably as pistons 🥲
@@RansomFern you can pick up the pistons individually from the lego store in their spare parts section, it should only cost around 6 euros including postage and packaging, but that price may have changed, I haven't used their site in a while.

Built this a couple of days ago and wanted to give a small review.
Build is amazing. All the articulation is great and the shaping is sick. No complaints here.
HOWEVER, it's very top heavy. It's INCREDIBLY top heavy infact.
- The triple balljoints in the ankles don't really help and it keeps doing the michael jackson lean and topples over.
-The ratchet joints at the crotch aren't able to support the weight of the torso. If you want to pose it with it's legs spread just a little bit wide it'll give in and do the splits.
-The single ratchet joint at the ab isn't strong enough. If you pick the mech up from it's waist the lower part will disconnect from the weight.
-The same ratchet joint isn't strong enough and when the mech is holding its weapon on one hand the whole upper torso will lean to the side.
Realistically the only pose that doesn't eventually give in is the standing neutral pose. Even then you can't have it holding the weapon in one hand cuz the weight of the staff makes it lean to the side.
If you have the parts I would highly suggest giving the ankles some support like in the new Cole titan mech set. Cuz the ankle joints being so weak is a big risk factor.
I think the mech is big enough to have 4 fingers instead of 3. It might be a gruelling challenge thou.

Ransom, you are a bricking LEGENDARY MOC Builder, this is actually INSANE! The fact that you were able to build a mech that poseable and sturdy as a COMBO/ALT MODEL IS INSANE! I can’t wait to get the instructions for this because damn, I am absolutely blown away. Loved tuning into the streams man!

Built it last night and it's a real beauty! Shame that it used parts from the side-builds (Amulet shrine, Zane's submarine, especially Crystal beast) but still really good.
Heads-up for anyone building this too, make sure the connections from the hip to the legs are correct else it'll be REALLY loose. The two ratchet points should connect to the center of the technic rotation joint (facing forward) and one on the other three points. If you try to put the two elsewhere it'll be incredibly easy to fall off.
Also if you're having trouble finding a place to put the two gold swords/katanas, try putting them onto the trident behind the other blades. Looks real good!

probs a dumb question, but I would feel bad without asking (idk why, I just do) but would I be alright using some of your techniques in one of my Jaeger mocs that I'm currently struggling with?
The streams were good in my opinion, or maybe it was just the one I was able to catch. Yes it might have not been the most captivating stream, but this meant I could get things done while having it open in the background, occasionally checking in on your progress.
I really respect your abilities to come up with a build like this, only using one other set, this takes a lot of creativity and problem solving skills. You are a talented builder, thanks for sharing this with the internet.

If you want to make a Good Nya minifig to go with this, I suggest taking The Nyad Nya head and Hair and giving her The Samurai X Nya Torso, Legs and Armor (chestplate part on The front) and The Nyad Nya Tentacles and Water Stand!

yeah lego ratchet joints aren't that good. my zane mech had his shoulder posed horizontally, but now the slightest breeze will make the arm fall down immediately
Yeah like I got the quake mech off eBay and the arms just can’t go up granted they are very heavy for it but they still fall.

Wow, love it. Definitely will try to build this one replace the original samurai X mech. The question is how many left pieces for both set together? And will you thinking about use those left pieces to make side builds ( eg. extra weapon, bad guy mech and etc.) for more playable :-)
If you ever make the build traumatic first thing or you can even lift as act like parts because I would love to make like the Zak they feel faint pie different colors cuz I'm opposite a light blue fan so I would love to get most of the things I like being outside pieces like getting dark red so we still haven't liked exact amount parts on there so can build it outside of things standing there still asleep
