Same for me hé have a really good knowlege of what he is speaking and the fact that he keep his analyse for the end to let us appreciate the video... not cut every three sec to explain some shit ... and his face is just enought to know what to think :)
@@andrewb1147 it us true. Her live vocals for 90% of the times are so choppy like English is her second language. Her studio vocals are always smooth out so they sound better studio wise.
Now this is what you call a flawless ass performance!!! And women do have falsettos, it's a disconnected register just like with a guy's, Christina uses it all the time and it's substantially less healthy than head voice...
She was at her very best in 1995/1996, her belting abilities were peaking, her agility too, her tone got more refined and even more beautiful and her transitions out of this world. Her resonance/clarity were also particularly strong in her belts Most of her performances during that era are masterclasses in their own rights! 3:42 belt is truly so unique and out of this world and 3:47/48 her PRECISION was laser, she sounded almost like a robot (but naturally, no autotune!)
Yep glad af that I grew up in this musical era. I miss this where music was meant to show off god given talent like mariah had without having to do anything but sing.
This is probably one of my favorite performances, I'm obsessed with it haha. Thanx for the video, can you do Mariahs "Hero" & "Vision Of Love" live at Madison square garden
About your comment about questioning the theory about if women have falsetto. Some women have falsetto but most don't. The women who do have falsetto have bigger/thicker vocal chords which typically means that the women who have falsetto have lower voices...like men.
Women DO HAVE falseto, it's disconnected from the chest and head voice registers, just like whistle register. Mariah uses mainly falseto and whistle, she rarely uses head voice. If you wanna think of head voice think of several notes she hit on "The beautiful ones" with Prince, and the last note on "I still believe". Anyway, great reaction video as always.!
We will say what we want but to date nobody has mastered the transitions as well as this wonderful artist ... Thank you for your analyzes always correct, 🎶🎵🙏
Watching this made me feel so sorry for Mariah I be wondering if she sometimes don't sit back and remember those days when she was a top class vocalist actually the best vocalist in the 90s 😭😭😭😭😭 but she is still a great vocalist now but what's wrong with her upper chest ?? 😭 imma still support her tho cause she is my queen
She's still an excellent singer. However, as a fan I'm guessing you know she has nodules (had them since her childhood). As you could imagine singing such a difficult catalogue for more than 30 years with nodules would of course eventually affect her. Nodules has affected her upper belting abilities the most.. she could try and the nodules would just be like "nope". Again, she hasn't forgotten how to sing. She's knowledgeable on pretty much everything singer/music related. But the nodules affect her.
Please react to vision of love at Madison square garden. Better than the studio! Underneath the starts at the Tokyo Dome and Can't let go MTV unplugged. Thanks, great videos.
I feel this live version has less vocal tension than her studios version in the debut album, possibly because of more mixed voice than chest pulling here? 6:18 I agree that Whitney Houston had strong head voice, so does SoHyang. I strongly recommend Lisa Fischer & Minnie Riperton since they have some of the best super head voice (>D6) skills of all time with agility & excellent control. I also believe Céline Dion's head voice is agile. Her clarity in runs helps her mimic the sound of a guitar in live shows.
I love your channel!!! I absolutely love music and I love singing, but I don’t know all of the technical stuff and that really bothers me. I’ve been learning a lot from your channel. You really seem to know a lot about the voice and I’m soaking up all that information like a sponge. Can I just say that I’m especially thrilled that you comment on so much Mariah!!! I LOVE HER. I’ve loved her since I was 9 and she first came out with Vision of Love. I’ve been singing along with her ever since. Please, please, please keep up with the Mariah videos. I can’t get enough. Loved seeing your reaction to I don’t wanna cry. It’s one of my faves and this live performance is EVERYTHING. I was especially anxious to see your reaction to that last “cry” at 4:46 !!! Was that not amazing!!!??? How did she fo that? What even was that!? lol
Head voice is her most non-utilized part of voice. She often switches directly to the falsetto or even whistle register. That's why her head voice is often criticized to be not well connected to the chest and not strong even.
that last low note run she did omfg
She sing so HIGHT on her belts notes ..... waouaouuuuu i have no word .... LIVING LEGEND !!!!! Mariah Carey is the best vocalist of all time !
THE GREATEST FEMALE SINGER.!
The Serial You're the greatest mother Mimi fan ever hahaha.
The Divas of Supreme amen!!
Aaaaaaamen
Mariah slayed her parts but those background singers were slaying too!!!!! 🎶
I love the fact that you know what you're talking about unlike many RUclipsrs reacting to Mariah, and singing in general.
Thanks :)
