Cool vid. First time watcher. Learned new stuff around WiFi7 and the new BT iteration capabilities. I’m going to watch more soon. Some other folks should just stick with making pliers review videos if they just can’t stand to follow or understand more technical topics. IJS. Well done.
I bought a wifi 6e router in 2018 and not a single device of mine -including the iPad Air I bought 16 months ago- could connect to the 6 or 6e. Today the only device in our house that can connect to the third band is my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Will wifi 7 be readily available or accessible anytime soon?
@@AutomateYourLife thank you for sharing. After watching you for a few years now,I earlier today decided that it was time to become a member. Thank you for all that you do!
BT pressense tracking is already here with basic BT. And it works very well. I am using Home assistant with Bermuda trilateralisation and an old Apple watch as the "tracker". BT capable Shelly devices can be set up as BT "beacons" as can cheap ESP32 chips. The whole set up has cost me less than a couple hundred bucks and it uses the BT already there in my existing equipment! It is extremely effective. In the future we will wear BT tracking rings (already available with days of battery life ) or even smaller BT wearable devices. If they are made for specific localisation purposes, the battery life can be months. Even years.
@@AutomateYourLifecan you bring wapphigh5250 on your show via video if necessary so he can instruct how to implement his setup, if he’s willing? Thanks
Excellent as always, Brian. BTW, on my older TP. Link mesh system I have the ability in the app to creat an "IoT" network and can make it only 2.4 if I want to. It gives you the ability to connect all your 2.4 devices without any hassle. Keep this kind of information coming.
Just make sure you pick a brand that will stop the harmful ionising radiation. Lucky for you that all the smart home devices emit only non-ionising radiation, so it doesn't matter. Watch out for sunlight though, part of its spectrum is ionising radiation. That's why it can give you skin cancer 😘😜 On another note, why isn't there a tinfoil hat EMOJI. I've given up on the flying car idea science promised but COME ON, 25 YEARS OF EMOJI AND STILL NO TINFOIL HAT EMOJI ? WTF!

They say it’s best to turn off Bluetooth when you’re not using it, if use comes as you are suggesting, turning it off won’t be an option or is the new Bluetooth version more secure to use?
how will the new bt standard alert me if there's somebody in my home good or bad? atm i have wyze etc which does this. how will bt take over this space like you stated comparing sensors and presences? what if bad person has a older phone or newer and no other bt device aeounrd? for home owners i use geo fencing gps to and home/awaY etc to automate stuff.
The answer to that question is gonna sound a little weird. The fact is, the standard doesn't deal with it. They leave most of the calculation of distance, etc. up to the maker of the app/software/hardware. That means you'll have to ask someone like Wyze if they'll be using BT 6.0 in this way :). They'll likely have to make you a new product or a new automation in the app with one of their products that's BT 6.0 capable.

Bluetooth location looks scary but I highly doubt it will actually work or if it does that any actually useful data will be provided for us end users. even if accuracy was good enough to pinpoint you in a room you would still need to have a bluetooth device on your person at all times and so would every member of your household who you wish the automation to run for, and most people are not carrying their phone throughout the house or wearing ear buds or such at home walking through rooms all the time. maybe something like a mi band would work for one person, not so much smart watches because of their short battery life and constant need to charging doesn't really seem very practical to me.
