    Your guides should be sponsored by CA it would help new players understand the game in a way that would help beat the frustration of the learning curve and allow the player to not rely on doom stacking.

      I've only been making these for a couple months or so but I'd love to make a niche for "one stop concise guides" as I do enjoy making them. With supporters like you we'll get there mate. Cheers!

    These guides are brilliant, thank you! I'm an experienced player and know most of this stuff but there were still a few things that I've learned from your videos and I now have more clearly defined understanding of some of the more vague mechanics working in the background.

    finally i figured out how to confederate thx to this old guide. Everybody was just saying you need to get the faction down to 1 settlement and be top 3 in power ratings and then you can confederate... but that was completely untrue....you need to be vastly superior in power rating and have around +80 relationships. Then you can confederate even a 6 settlements faction which thx to your guide i did manage for the first time

    I'm new to the totalwar series and TW:WH2 is my 1st game in this series. I find your videos really helpful but at the same time it is also alot to take in for a new player. I guess I will take my time to digest all the info slowly.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  3 года назад

      So glad if it helps you in any way. If you're brand new to the series, I'd recommend starting at the very beginning with my Fundamentals video. This game isn't so much complex, but more poorly explained as to what the "rules are" and that's the approach I try to take. If you have any questions just comment and I'll do my best. Appreciate the comment and sub! Cheers

    Your channel is still completely underrated, man. Your videos are one of the most sophisticated ones, which the TW:community really needs. Makes me sad that you don't have 100k subscribers.
    ps. How about doing a different guides for factions like greenskins or vampire counts that play less ranged-meta? I know you're the elven guy, but I'm sure you'll have an experience when trying those factions.
    pps. When you say "only do small gifts" keep in mind that the increase to attitude may not be proportional to the money spent (2000 - 20, 8000 - 40, 30000 - 80), the way the real attitudes climbs may also not be proportional. I'm not entirely sure how it works, but that is something to keep in mind. It could be that big money bribes still give a proportional larger "net-relations", as it probably increases by how big the difference of positive and negative relations are rather than just aiming for one value in the same speed. This calculation would also be in line with the fact that the bribes diminish rather fast.

      Thanks for the kind words. I certainly have intention to cover other factions. It's a great game with some great options. I tend to hyper focus on one faction at a time to ensure completeness and accuracy of advice. It's a long way of doing things but when I'm giving % ratings I feel its best to live that faction to keep everything comparative. There's plenty of non-elven factoins I'm looking forward to :)
      In WH2 the multiples of small gifts I've found simply works well for short bursts, and fast confederations which is the best approach to take. Trying to balance more than one target is also risky and small gifts seems to edge those bets and bring the most reward. When your bursting with funds and want to inflate another race as an ally, that's when I'll tend to use larger gifts. That's just my approach and diplomacy here is somewhat subjective to your style.
      Cheers again for supporting the channel!

    Another total banger. Thanks for being clear, informative, and to-the-point. I sincerely hope you offer more of these deep-dives as I have been enjoying the game more coming from your content!
    If you can answer tho, would you know if there are any new issues with Confederation in Total War 2? Confederacies as Tyrion have become impossible even with 80+ relationship and almost full yellow BoP. Maybe bec of the Defensive Alliance?

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад +1

      Cheers mate. Different lords have different personalities. The minor factions are RNG but others are fixed (see traits under their portrait in the Diplo screen).
      Faction leaders are proud and will not give up power easily. It's a combination of having signifcantly more BoP than them and a relation over 80. Past 150 doesn't seem to do anything. Either you wait for them to lose their main army and dip their BoP or you give them literally 100,000's of gold. Honestly, just check the Dip screen and play your campaign without obsessing over it. Defensive alliances don't make it "too" much more difficult. Miitary Alliances definitely do!

  • @jakeholmannf

    Something I would add is that trespassing against a faction also causes factions they are friendly with to get upset with you and can cause you to lose relations with them. Great guide though!

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад +1

      That's a fair point. You can usually overcome this relatively small penalty with all the other things you'll hopefully have in common..... Unless you're trespassing to attack said faction's friend? haha

      @jakeholmannf 2 года назад +2

      @@ElvenPlotArmour most definitely! Will you be putting out a guide to game 3's diplomacy and the differences between it and 2? I think that would be really helpful to folks to grasp it as an early video for the new game!

      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад +1

      @@jakeholmannf That's a great idea mate! I may well do that. If it's not that material I might relegate it to a timestamp for WH3's own diplomacy video. Cheers!

    I wouldn't say your balance of power matters as much as the enemies balance of power in their current wars or lack of wars at the moment, ai factions will almost always declare war on you the player if they are not fighting another ai even with good relations and are more powerful then them, a good way to counterbalance is to invite them to join your wars which they will usually accept even if they hate you ironically.

    • @ElvenPlotArmour
      @ElvenPlotArmour  2 года назад +2

      In a way. You'll notice if your BoP is low and you have several enemies, the wars will snowball due to the other factions bonding over hating you. From what I've seen, as enemies whittle down, the penalties can increase, but this happens to all factions. Essentially this is to ensure the world is always at war and don't agree to world peace with their current borders. It's actually realistic historically. The distrust and ambition that brews the moment the common enemy is gone... the next step when all enemies are gone is civil war. The world is not a nice place, real or fantasy!
