Knowing what job to do is interesting. I remember Emongg saying about protecting the Bastion when he goes into his turret mode. I saw that and put my matrix around him. @@pusheencat7722 if one person does something stupid, they're stupid. if five people do something stupid together, it's a strategy. Jayne, who was an ow streamer before he became a Dallas fuel coach, once said that and it stuck with me. keep your eye on the cart/point, be ready to ping it and fall back, but if you're not with your team, you're immediately putting them at a 100% avoidable disadvantage. sometimes holding close is the right move. sometimes it's a little too aggressive, but if you're holding as a team, you'll just die together and then respawn and be able to take another fight. the worst thing you can do UNLESS you are able to stand on cart AND contribute is not contribute anything by not being with the team in the example you have given. you don't NEED to stay on point once it's captured. if you're defending on a payload map, you don't NEED to stand on cart if the attackers aren't trying to move it. the cart will slowly move back on its own. taking and controlling space is SO important in ow. there's a reason why you don't see top 500 people often standing on cart or on point. will write more soon, I'm currently in queue for a comp game lmao
@@pusheencat7722 re: if your team is attacking on payload, I think it depends. sometimes it's okay to win the fight and then move the payload because you can get more uncontested time on the cart. other times, if you're able to back cap because the enemy just does not care about the objective, I say go for it because it's not about winning fights or getting elims, winning means winning the objective. I would say test it out. go fight with your team and win the fight, then go back, etc

It disables it for such a small amount of time that it ends up not being that annoying tbh. OW1 Sombra was so much worse, but now she disables your ability for a split second and you get it back so quickly that it ends up being used just to shut down ultimates (which half the roster can do) and get extra virus damage. Not that much more annoying than any other hero, at least as far as the hack is concerned in my opinion 🤷
@@harm0ny_ its not the hacking as a main part but shes annoying now to fight due to her passive getting shorted with the translocator now so she can just vanish and u can do nothing about it. @@nemeblisswell. While I understand your point - having fun is also a crucial point in playing the game. Some people get fun from tryharding and even if they lose, they will still enjoy it
'when I grav 5 people it feels like I am healing the team' You know, that pretty much sums up how overwatch feels right now and why 1 shot characters feel so bad to die against, because anything else can pretty much be out healed (queue the clip of a nano genji not being able to kill a Cassidy), honestly, I should just git gud at hanzo or play support...
if you feel most things short of a one shot can be out healed, I think the issue is not focusing on the same targets as your team. it's a you problem, not a problem with the game itself. the healing numbers aren't designed to be able to outheal damage. they're meant to sustain the team just long enough. there's a difference. focused aggression cannot be out healed. as a support, I can promise you that the healing in overwatch is not as strong as you feel it is. just be more creative - take a different angle and force the other team to deal with multiple problems at once. force supports to panic by going for them and distracting them from helping the rest of their team. that can be more than enough, even if you don't actually manage to kill them.
also, the example you gave isn't a perfect one. going after a Cassidy who has a roll that gives him damage reduction and a grenade to keep a genji from using dash (the primary reason blade is so good, you can just close the distance bc blade is only good when there's little distance) instead of the supports who don't have those tools is a poor decision, not a problem with the capacity to do damage. tldr overwatch is about making good decisions. it's not about how much damage your team can do on paper, it's about how your team uses that damage.

I assume that means using my Defense Matrix to cover teammates, or stand in front of them to take the damage? I have played games similar to this, but, this game is extremely different in that this is the only game I have ever seen where the different characters are so different. Change a character, and it's like a totally new game. I'm starting to learn the mechanics. I have been playing for a few months, but, I feel I should be better at this time. I have improved I think, but, I suck so bad. :( Even a friend of mine told me to avoid playing comp. I have noticed, that when I am on one person, this is especially true for DPS, if I am failing miserable, a change to another helps a lot (usually) . I just don't want to suck at this :( I feel kind of lost. @zeldacereza
Thank you! I am terrified of having people watch my gameplay. When I play I often say "ugh I should have done _________"..... I'll admit, I have very low self esteem. I see myself as the worst Overwatch player ever. I play every role. Medic, DPS, and tank. I usually do roles, any. I do have a lot of questions, so I will join his discord. He is one of my favorite people as he gives advice without being insulting. Partly why I follow him. One of the things I notice is that the team will abandon the objective and sit at the other team's spawn point. I struggle knowing what to do. I usually stay with the cart as if I don't, it'll just sit there. I've dragged it across the map before. But should I be with the team, even though no one is moving it?
Knowing what job to do is interesting. I remember Emongg saying about protecting the Bastion when he goes into his turret mode. I saw that and put my matrix around him. Which only lasts a few seconds. I watch tons of videos, but then once in an actual game, and in the action, I start to get confused on what to do sometimes, as so much is happening at once. Especially once the team scatters. It's much easier for me when they stay together, but when they scatter, it's hard to tell where I should be :(@@sethescope
Overwatch 2 and basketball are essentially the same game.
I also like to hit buttons. I will jump from spawn to point spamming spray followed by melee 😂
Bastion is like a crossbow. Both should only be legally used by disabled people to help even the playing field.
Make bastion where he gets knocked out of turret whenever he gets cc'd, sleep dart, rock jav, doom punch to wall, keep his damage up but make it punishable instead of turret go brrrrr head now behind me and i take reduced damage
That would make him terrible
Bro plays ramattra and says bastion ruins the fun 💀
Blames Bastion. Is the reason Bastion was effective in the first place.
This tank doesn't know how to deal with a Bastion comp. Going Junker when there's an Anna is just a terrible counter choice.
True but nerf genji
as a genji main... i cry everytime.....
We have analysed the data and decided that genji is overperforming so now his blade is just a rubber chicken that squawks when it hits a target, they are midly discomforted. We feel this will improve the competitive integrity of the game significantly in all ELOs.
That soldier carried 😂
Remember the days when there were two tanks and Bastion was only a reasonable threat to them and only terrifying to squishies? I do. Gosh I miss OW1
imo L take. Double shield was horrible, DPS were either trash or OP, and double capture could be super unfair.
Lmao 0 iq running face first into bastion 😂 this is my teammates
I'd like to see you work on enunciating the 'g' in words with the "ing" suffix.
As a sombra main if i see a bastion hes generally my first target.
I thought this was a flats video when I clicked
As a Rein main. I hate bastions. As a Zarya main. I LOVE bastions. 😂
Gotta love all that free charge
Bastion sucks to play against but unless he is being pocketed he just falls over in 90% of team fights, considering he has hog’s hitbox and damage reduction if we gave him more health and less damage he would just be a tank lmao
Sombra will forever ruin the fun if u need to take away abilitys by hacking them to win that aint fun its boring
Cry
@@favoritontoilet3811 its my opinion no one said u had to like it everyone has that one hero that makes a game not fun for them
It disables it for such a small amount of time that it ends up not being that annoying tbh.
And it depends on the person using it like if your 1 and 15 with 1 k damage and psuhing back line and feeding its not helpful and its annoying as hell cause they ask for help when were no where near them but as i said its my personal ruin to the game
And yet there are Sombra gamers who say she's forever ruined because she no longer has the old passive which gave them far too much free value. Everyone has different opinions about the character and the game. She's no longer the most oppressive character imo. That role still applies to Illiari. Seriously, she's in every game and get value from AFKing.
Sombra should counter bastion in gold VERY easily
Easier solution: it there's a Mei and Bastion, don't peek him and play Zarya or Orisa if it's just Bastion than Sigma and D,va.
True. Honestly if you removed bastion, sombra, symmetra, and widow from this game it would be a million times more fun.
with bastion being good rn I am basically one tricking sigma this season and farm elo from them. The worst part about bastion being good is that Winston is basically useless
8:40-9:08 he's soooo shouldn't be alive in this especially considering how outnumbered he is....he's lucky he had support really up there supporting the crap out of him.
Lifeweaver saved the game
lw pick is always huge with aggro bot tanks
Bastion is so dogshit in GM, just wait out turret mode and then fry his ass. But i can see how hes oppressive in the lower ranks, especially since people dont like using cover
Gotsssss to go sigma
As a Sigma main I don’t see the issue with Bastion 🙂
But really, I don’t mind playing against bastion because they’re always so bad
winning has become way too important in today's gaming.
It's competitive... if you don't wanna win a ranked game, why play the mode at all?????
@@nemeblisswell. While I understand your point - having fun is also a crucial point in playing the game. Some people get fun from tryharding and even if they lose, they will still enjoy it
Quickplay warriors agree with this sentiment.
@@azseal2669 qp is just as bad now tbh
This is mainly why I main dva so I can shutdown bastions
@@sethescopethis entire take was the most support main copium garbage I've ever seen
@@nbnkenji8204 Im sorry facts come across as copium to you.
Yo I was the mercy in this game I almost never play mercy so have no idea when this was
orisa is much more unbearable to play against than bastion tbh
This guy plays rammatra the same way I do lol. Literally looks like my gameplay
Smash back line every chance even it causes my mercy to get slaughtered
People struggling against a bastion is wild lol as an Ana main, that's an easy ass kill 😂😂
I mean of course, it's easy when you have a small hitbox, long-range with no fall-off, a strong CC, and the ability to prevent him from getting healed/instantly healing yourself.
@@danielcooper3332 exactly use heros like they're intended to be used lol
like do you not understand bastion isnt meant to kill supports? Hes literally gonna be impossible to kill with nerfed doom, hes already impossible to kill if he has any type of support anyways
@@EclipsedSoul4774its also really easy to kill him on bap, but neither of those are tanks are they
Well supports have been Super strong lately. Like game breaking strong
I DONT CARE what anyone says Kiri and Ana and the most broken characters in the game
Bastions turret lasts for like 10 seconds and has a like 10-15 second timer.
So legit just wait for him to use it…the gun him down lol?
If you don’t know how to manage your enemies abilities im sorry. You’re not above gold.
You should be monitoring their teams foomfowns, and if not their whole team, at least ONE enemy. At least ONE. Hell not even one enemy…ONE ABILITY. Just watch configuration bro 😭
The tank is overly aggressive, has terrible positioning because of that over agression. No wonder one person making a Bastion swap resulted in him getting instant rolled.
Well Bastion design is pretty stupid. When Bastion goes into wheels the game pretty much stops till the wheels are over. So much fun when half of the game you just gotta sit behind corner waiting when you can peek again.
Talking about good or bad tank picks in gold is a bit silly, no?
Bastion has way too much fucking hp. I shouldn't have to shoot him 8x with ashe to kill him. He needs a clear crit spot that can be hit from anywhere. Every shit team since ow1 who cant play a skill hero switches bastion junkrat every time the lose one fight.
😢
This guy plays weird asf and the color scheme was throwing me off
remove bastion and torb
“These MF have no honor… how dare them want to win!!”
Bro… you know that your team can pick bastion too, right?
OK but why should they feel forced to change to bastion because theirs a bastion
@@Keliciabrat because that’s how “competitive” video games work, you have the same roster, you can counter-pick, mirror or keep playing your main and just play better
But you chose to be a sore loser
@@AbdulazizOla excuse me in paladins I don't have to swap 5 time's or smite or lol I can just buy something to counter the enemy and equip it to my hero overwatch is poorly designed which is why it will never be balanced vice a verse the other team like cauterize, extra defence, deal more damge after I use an ability overwatch is poorly executed and there will always be an unfair feeling in it
Now hog is so annoying af
Bastion and Sym is the reason why hero bans are NEEDED in overwatch
This dude sucks 😭
We need a bastion now was literally what someone said in my first comp match today xD. I switched... not much diff than Sym imo but it was like a final push type of thing.
bastion is really good at dishing out lots of dps and forcing people to hide or be punished when he goes turret form, even more so if you have a mercy to damage boost and heal you, whenever im not playing support and i play dps bastion is my "final push to obliterate the tank" swap
