Thank you Sir. Yet another exceptional review. I was on the fence about ordering, until I saw your review. Thank you again. I just ordered. I’ve ordered nearly 2 dozen pairs of shoes based upon my research and backed up by your thorough, competent, efficient reviews. You are The Man, and your reviews are all the validations that I need! Keep up the great work! A lot of us depend upon you for clarity in research!
I have the Hyperion Max same color as in your video. I like it and I use/bought it to race half marathons on them. I do not want a carbon plated shoe, so this works for me in that context. I use the Hyperion Tempo for my interval and tempo workouts. The difference with the max is that it has more cushion and it is still very light, thus better shoe for racing long distances.
Not sure I have room in my rotation or wallet for the Max this year. I had calf issues with the Hyperion Tempo but not with the Floatride Energy 3 or Adios 7. But that lockdown was magical on the Tempo! Kind of want another pair to just walk/workout with because they look so nice and fit so well.
I love brooks feel wise. However, they have the most atrocious design team especially for the men’s shoes! The women’s look at least they put a little effort into some of the designs.
Interesting take and good video. Personally, I kind of rediscovered Brooks because I've found that a lot of shoes these days can be too squishy for being about 215lbs and go flat over long runs. The Ghost 15 is my go to daily trainer and I added the Hyperion Max in a my increased pace long run trainer in lieu of a carbon plated shoe. This was based on a lot of feedback from other heavier runners who find the firmer foams to be perfectly cushioned for their weight. For actual events like 10k, half, and full marathons I picked up the Vaporfly 3's. I take those out to get used to them so I know what to expect, but train with the Hyperion Max. Pretty good thing I got going so far. Adding a Max cushion to the rotation soon.
I love the Hyperion Tempo. I have 2 pairs. In the first 200 km I loved the low weight and BOUNCE. But at around 300km I feel like the bounce is gone. Still a very comfortable and lightweight but lost the wow factor.
I wear speed 2 and was able to try them at the brooks pre party, I felt they had a solid feel, but but my speed feel quicker and for the money are my choice
You took that as positive? Liking the colourway is maybe the least important thing in a running shoe. It's firm unexciting midsole and being vastly over priced compared to other better, cheaper options from other brands is the take away for this I think. He never trashed it but it certainly wasn't a glowing recommendation that's for sure.
I made the same comment on kofuzis review of the Max - for what the shoe is the price is ridiculous. Brooks are taking the mick big time. I like the Hyperion Tempos but they are a workout/tempo shoe so pretty niche. To your point Fordy lots of other cheaper options out there or shoes that are similar in price but better
Why not speed 3 or rebel 3 instead - becouse not every runner likes or wants that amount of softness on the shoe, but saying that also think hyperion max overpriced .. defenetly will give it a crack when goes on discount
Agree on the overall aesthetic, the Tempo was lovely by its simplicity with that lovely black/blue combo, but that sculpting of the Max really does make it look dynamic when stood still.
Goes to show how different bio mechanics work. I have just bought the same shoes and they feel great! Hope they improve for you with more miles if you stick with them
@@tonylavers3532 I know what you mean regarding the Invincible as I have them too. So far at least the Triumph is looking to be my longer run shoe and the more bouncy invincible a more recovery focused option.
I agree everyone online said they where soft but I didn’t find that at all I love the invincible and maybe I should try the glide ride Novablast 2 was also nice novablast 3 is okay but I don’t think there as bouncy
Just got some of these. Was a big fan of the tempos. They work for me as they feel more stable than endorphin speeds (which I also own) Had some ankle issues so works for me. Brooks also just fit me nicely which is annoying as they are overpriced as you said).

Speed 3 and Rebel 3 are a little too unstable for me. Hyperion Tempo is much more stable. Looking forward to trying the Hyperion Max.

Can't wait for your review on Skechers Razor 4, to see how those compare with Hyperion Max. Cheers!
I just got that color. Comes in Monday. Looks more like coral in person, eh? I love Coral
I had some brooks 10 years ago before I knew any better. Never been compelled to go back #speed3everytime

Interesting it’s lost that
After 300km , always bounce is gone, sometimes in radical way sometimes a bit
I believe these nitro infused foam struggles in the colder temperatures, my Hyperion Tempo feels like bricks under 6C.
Puma Deviate 2 better than this? Thinking long run shoe.
I wear speed 2 and was able to try them at the brooks pre party, I felt they had a solid feel, but but my speed feel quicker and for the money are my choice
Nice looking shoe. However just bought the saucony endorphin speed 3 thanks to your recommendation
This is the first time atleast for me ., that I've heard good feedback from brooks Fordy 😅😂

Good morning for all the runners from 🇪🇸. Thanks for this information about Brooks. Like to Fordy. A nice weekend for everyone.🌤️🏃🌞
Same to you
Love the shoe BUT my right hamstring 😢tender after fast runs but at fartleks and medium pace runs it's a blast.
Nothing about the Brooks lineup excites me, just far too many better options out there these days
Don’t get me started
@@FordyRuns do start ;)
But it is a reliable and very high quality product.

Yeah mate
Nothing beats the speed 3. Rebel v3 is closest but still second only because speed 3 is better for longer distance tempo and races.
Compared to the tempo? Are they softer? Not as quick? Higher rebound? I didn’t find the tempo firm but I’m a light runner.
Why not speed 3 or rebel 3 instead - becouse not every runner likes or wants that amount of softness on the shoe, but saying that also think hyperion max overpriced .. defenetly will give it a crack when goes on discount
I believe when the brooks rep came in, he said 30mm 22mm. Normal version being 26mm 18mm. Probably not including the Sock Liner and Outsole
Waiting for your review on saucony elite
may be a non plated shoe for racing in HM.
Agree on the overall aesthetic, the Tempo was lovely by its simplicity with that lovely black/blue combo, but that sculpting of the Max really does make it look dynamic when stood still.
Yeah I’m with you
Should i go for brooks hyperion max or deviate nitro 2 for speedwork , interval , fartlek , tempo
It's only a matter of time before they make Brooks "Hypertension" series for me
Just bought the Triumph 20 and found that very firm and non responsive and best my legs and groin up.
Goes to show how different bio mechanics work. I have just bought the same shoes and they feel great! Hope they improve for you with more miles if you stick with them
@@philbrown9901 compared to asic glideride 3 and the invincibles which I also love these feel like running with cemented soles lol

Never ran in Brooks, but run in the saucony speeds. Do you run same size in these as the speeds?
@@kirbster1977 yup
Fordy, I'm looking for a race day carbon shoe that offer support..... I overpronate a bit, Is there anything out there?? Thanks in advance.
Pro3
@@FordyRuns Thanks chap.
I think he means adios pro3 from adidas and not the saucony endophin pro3.. am I wrong Fordy?
@@samir8172 well, now I am confused haha.
@@FordyRunsHi Fordy, gonna buy my first Brooks. Considering this one. If I am US 9 usually with Nike and Merrel, should 9 Brooks be good fit with me?
So to speak Endorphin Speed 3 is a better shoe.
Absolutely rascal shoe 😂
I have loved my tempos & was really excited to get my hands on these….. until I saw the color ways, just don’t dig the colors🥲
