Thanks Thao for including the 13R i haven't seen many reviewers cover it so far. Its no slouch but for me camera and wireless charging are important factors. Its unfortunate they dont include a 80w brick like they did with the 12r (what i currently have now). I personally will be getting a 13 and with the trade in, one plus is offering i practically will be getting it at a price close to the 13r so its a no brainer. One thing that the 13R does have over the 13 as you mentioned is that flat display but oh well. Been watching for years, thanks for doing a great job reviewing tech. Have a great day!
13R looks like a very solid phone with beautiful screen, SD 8 Gen3, huge RAM and memory - especially considering the price. Yes, 13 costs 'only' 300 more than 13R, but more importantly, that +50% so in fact a big step up.
Great video! Would you say the oneplus 13 screen has distortion or more glare and reflection compared to 13r? Or is the curved not noticeable in day-to-day use? Looking forward to buy the 13 but the curved screen is holding me back.
It's a toss up. 13r is limited to 256/12 setup. Slightly better battery lower res camera and lower resolution display and weaker speakers. 12 has better cameras, from reviews I've seen better thermal but performance between the 2 is identical. And better haptics better speakers and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Basically get the 12 if you want the more premium device and more storage otherwise they are the same performance wise
4:23 I would have appreciated a simple file transfer speed test: transfer a large video file and measure how long it takes. Just listing the USB spec is not that useful or accurate.

They’re both wrong for the USA. No mmWave, no n70 for Dish Wireless (the 4th carrier in the US), and possibly no Dual eSIM, Dual Standby. Boil it in water all u want, but it’s missing stuff tailored to this country. The S25 Ultra and iPhone 16 Pro have all freq bands and modes used here. Why would someone waste money on something missing valuable cellular functionality??
I live in the US, and I don't need any of those things. I got the 13 because everything I want from a phone, the 13 does better than probably any other phone on the market
I, too, live in the USA and have been through 3 OnePlus phones. Never had ANY connection issues and I PREFER the prices of them as opposed to Samsung AND IPhone where you have to pay OVER a thousand dollars ? 🤨 THEN you get a phone and have to PAY for a charger AND cable? OnePlus phones ALWAYS give THOSE items in the box WITH their phones! They charge FASTER AND last at LEAST a day whereas Samsungs and IPhones DON'T! So, yeah- THAT'S WHY!! 😼
The 13R looks better. That matte finish on the side looks so much classier. I already have a 16PM (which is better than both lol) so I don't need another high priced phone. The 13R is a nice device to use on the side for me. It's so much better looking, especially with that clean back.

There's definitely some glare and distortion at certain angles, but straight on- it's fine.

A 1GB file will take 17 seconds on the 13R vs under 2 seconds on the 13. Hope that helps!

They don't receive monthly security patches. They receive every other month updates.
