      Yeah, runes can be super important and have a huge influence in your matchups. As shown in this video, you can determine how to play around the enemy ADC and support by their runes and playstyle connected to them.

    I play support and I learnt a LOT from this video but I have one question. Why would the poke botlane want to push the wave?, doesn't that just give the all-in botlane room to engage on them?. Still amazing guide I learnt a lot from this *THANK YOU* 😃

    • @rosao6997
      @rosao6997 3 месяца назад +32

      They responded that in the video. When you are at the poke side, u want the extremes on wave control. Either being safe on your tower, or creating a big wave where the enemy can't fight back and then push them to their tower, making it harder to farm. What you want to avoid is a small wave advantage and the possibility for the enemy to freeze the wave.

    • @ethanspicer3471
      @ethanspicer3471 3 месяца назад +6

      If you’re poking them correctly then an engage match up should very rarely have the health or feel safe enough to jump on you without a jungle. By shoving wave you force them on tower which limits their movement and they’ll lose gold on minions from turret dhot

    As a support is it better to pick a support that favors the same rune condition as your adc, or pick one that you know counters the play style of one of the enemy team?

    • @jose6723
      @jose6723 3 месяца назад +2

      I think it depends on what your champion does as a support. When I play Thresh, I always go for Aftershock because of his kit which allows for extended trades. As Sona, I go Aery because she's too squishy for long fights, but is decent at handling burst with her W power chord.

    • @horizon146
      @horizon146 3 месяца назад +3

      you wanna find a balance between something that counters enemy comp, something that fixes your comp and something that goes well with your adc - the first 2 are in equal magnitude of importance (depending on the game it differs) with the last one being the less "needed" one
      say enemy botlane is kalista/samira with some alistar or rakan, going poppy here to completely counter both the adc and support not allowing them to ever engage on you
      other times your team is 3 selfish damage dealers (Jhin adc, Gwen top, Viego jungle) you'd probably want a support that has maximum utility and a tank like a Nautilus or an Alistar because you need to survive engage burst and Alistar R is great for that EVEN THOUGH Jhin prefers to have a poke/mage support like Senna Zyra etc but for the betterment of the teamcomp going Senna here completely screws the team

    I dont agree 100% witth what you said in the Blitz/Cait vs Lucian/Lux matchup. Sure they can't 100 to 0 someone but they can get a lot of damage off to force the other laner to base, due to the cc chain with blitz q->e and caits w. Of course it needs to be played well but Lucian Lux need to respect them much more.

    • @Awezug
      @Awezug 3 месяца назад

      I believe the whole point of the vid is to help to understand how to plan trades first 3 levels. And this early luc+lux should force trades, if they get the advantage they will have higher chances to win the lane off from that. Also in low elo people usually struggle to do even moderate difficulty combos, like cc chains of cait+blitz that you mentioned or cait+ anyone else, so it is better to stick to something more bullt-proof as a strategy like they showed in the video. I think that in this example even in low elo this lane will work even better if blitz takes electrocute, that way they will be able to chunk decently if blitz lands hook and cait missess cc and they will still be a danger due to possibility of cc chain. That kinda proofes that both your and skillcapped point of view are valid

    The video is good to teach you that you should have a plan and thag you can divide your lanes into all in and short trades etc. But I have a problem with the runes because I believe the video is assuming your adc will always get the optimal rune.
    For example, I watched this video and went in for a play test. I got Conqueror MF as my ADC. If I follow this video I should all in, but MF is going to be trash all in even with Conqueror, so in that situation it was better to do short trades despite the runes.

    Seriously tho, as a Jhin main who often either snowballs or gets stomped into the ground, this video is great at understanding why. I know Jhin prefers short trades already, but I'll try my best to learn from it for the wider spectrum.

    Best bot combo is to find support or adc for duo you like to play with and have similar playstyle and mindset, because most of duo in soloq are adc+supp and if you play against premade with autofilled ape mage support your lane is doomed for survival and hope other lanes can win the game, which ruins botlane gameplay a lot and i think Riot should remove duo option from soloq like in high mmr divisions and move it to flex only, this will also fix boosters problem.

  • @Neovipa
    @Neovipa 3 месяца назад +2

    While the advice is good, there is quite a bit more going on in all of these clips than is being talked about. That's totally normal, there is far too much for most players to be concerned with, but many of these situations could have gone very differently had the players made different choices. In the Kaisa Aphelios example, Janna having exhaust is more of an issue than the keystones. Not to mention that Aphelios is focusing Janna when his support is focusing Kaisa. It doesn't matter what the matchup is, if you are focusing different targets you are likely going to lose the fight. Keystones is certainly a helpful heuristic to get started on planning your lanes, but it's reductive to present it as the defining factor in these situations.

      Speaking as an ADC, sometimes it helps to just tell your partner. Especially if you know right from the bat, letting them know "I want to aim for really short trades" or "I need to go all-in at the first chance" can help. Or alternatively, use sth like the first back or first death to let them know if you realize the gameplan's not working out.
      I told my supports before when we struggled that I need them to be more aggressive and push more. No flaming or anything, just a simple "Hey Ashe, I need you to play more aggressive pls. We got this." and voila, they did and the lane changed in our favor.
