Day 1 grind everyone caught the numbers, but not the size it’s still have to be better than work! Greg such an amazing and beautiful day on the water bass fishing does paradise get any better than that! Way to grind it out Greg and making that decision on the deep crank, nice fish! Melones is tough, lots of dinks, I was there for a couple days a month ago and came out with nothing over 16" either day.
That is a cranking lake for sure.Squarebill in the morning or small swimbait and deep crank and a-rig rest of the day Hopefully that's what you did second day . Good luck im sure you figured it out
just a little bit of advice that has worked for me, throw your lures 90° from the shoreline. throw right to the bank and retrieve towards the deep. the fish seem to watch the shoreline for stragglers. thanks for the videos!
Trust in Ensign! I felt the same way and you can shove one of these into a window / ice scraper shaft, attach a flag and you have a telescopic light + flag. (UST See-Me 1.0 Waterproof LED Light)

Pumpkin green Z-MAN hula stick 3 to 4 inch 3/16 to 1/8 weight weedless hook. has been my go to bait dragging on the bottom as slow as u can with an occasional pop. Might even fish it with a skirt same color. Seems to always get something, on that lake.
GB the medium diving crank bait just cover water It gets bits when nothing else will and a big night also! If you catch a good keeper then maybe slow down and throw a jig or something similar but my prioritie day one to get 5 put that crank bait in your hand and roll experiment with size of bait fish. I’m from north east Alabama I grew up on Weiss lake which is known as the crappie capital of the world! We have thredfin shad and no bull shad or gizzards so this time of the year with the days shorter fish naturally start associating with bait balls and always close to bait here there’s so many small 1.5 in to 3in shad you can go to backs of creeks place of some current and see more bait than the whole summer etc but I love the content and if your ever in Cherokee county Alabama I would gladly take you out and show your around the lake

Love GB, I've been watching since 2017. I live near this lake, but I'm a bank fishermen so I typically hike in on odd areas of the lake. Sometimes I'll ride along with a friend that has a boat but usually I'm hiking on the shore. I caught my pb large and my pb spot,....large 10.15 and the spot was 8.7 I want to point out that new melones is always different never predictable.
Nothing compares with your videos Greg, but can you use those Dude Wipes to clean the Screens of the fish finders?...Please! Lol (That's a "pet-peeve" of mine! ... having a dirty screen on a fish finder, that is...!) Haha!
I’ve always been curious as to how they determine if the ones participating in the tourney didn’t fish the lake in the last 30days…. How do they ensure this? Or is the whole lake closed for 30days to any fishing? No right?
$500 entry fee is just ridiculous especially for a TOC. Ive fished multiple 2 man boat derbys with a $400 entry fee (before you split it) and 1st place payout is $10,000, would love to know what 1st place pays in one of these tournaments. Also the overall cost to put on these tournaments should be much lower than a 100 boat tournament with a weigh in so where does all the money go fo the Yakabass derbys?
