The stress of running a RUclips channel and fishing a bunch gets to you. If you are worried what we think when you fail, don’t be. Sometimes it’s refreshing to know you are human. I lose more fish at the delta than anywhere else.

The frustration moments when you loose a fish are my favorite parts. Not cuz I like to see you fish but because the it's makes the videos so authentic. We've all been there and react the same way.

Welcome home Greg I’m glad you are home safe. Already jumping into a tournament. My heart goes out to you in this one each day brought you a different result expectations are always to come out on top! Maybe telling the fish you loved them and maybe giving them a kiss back into the lake might create a different type of attitude the fish have for you LOL! Seeing you hanging out with the boys and soon a complete full team showing would be awesome! Greg you are such a competitor it flows in your blood in your voice and your behavior but remember we just humans and life gives us highs and definitely gives us lows but it’s all how we respond and react from then that makes us champions! 5th place is still pretty awesome and something you can still smile about and at the end of the day we spend our day doing what we truly love to do and that’s fishing! Tight lines brother take care and God bless!❤

At least Day 2 went a bit smoother. Tournaments are stressful in themselves because of time constraints and the human need to know how the other competitors are doing.

Everyone of us would be upset about losing fish...I don't see it as whining, more that you are beating yourself up for making self inflicted errors...I have noticed that it happens alot less when you take your time...When you do tournaments, I can tell that you tend to play the fish alot harder to the boat...It's understandable of course, but you just have to constantly remind yourself to slow down and just take your time! Anyway I love the videos and i'm excited to see whats next!

Much harder than I probably should have but I didn’t want to lose those big fish. I replaced the hook and the problem went away. Different brand but same style and it was a night and day difference.

Hi greg, just spotted why you lose some fish.
I used to have the same problem myself.
Once you get the bite, chill for a second, get yourself a good hookset and then you are good.
Unless you have a very stiff rod, you shouln't reel into a fish to hook him in my opinion.
    Hope this helps,
Love your vids by the way

Dude, that stuff happens to all of us! I've been known to blow up a reel, wrap my line around a dock or two, and once in a while launch with the drain plug out! You aren't special 🤣🤣🤣!

When small fish are eating like that you need to throw a bait big enough that the little ones can't eat it. If you have ever watched under water footage or even watching bluegills, the little fast ones often eat it because the are faster.

Simply put, the best of Greg's thinking got him where was in this tournament. The only thing missing was Greg wasn't beating himself with one of his rods. "Change your thinking, change your fishing." And a good dose of plain luck has a little to do with it as well.

I throw my wacky rig on a MH and a bait caster with 12lb line. Way better of a hook set than you seem to be getting. That could be part of the problem

I get how you feel around 20 min I about broke my rod in half the last tournament I fished lost 6 3lb+ fish in a row when we only had 2 in the box we ended up winning in the end but it was so frustrating losing so many quality fish in a row when we needed them

Just had a very similar backlash. It had been maybe a year and a half since I had one like that. Lucky for me I wasn't fishing competitively, but still such a headache to deal with.
