(And Matt's grandfather was a Baptist preacher...so yeah, he is sound biblically.) "You will have to fight for me today" is asking for the Holy Spirit to help us in spiritual warfare, which is a real struggle. I'm glad y'all addressed that. Blessings!
Oh wow! I haven't had a lot of exposure to Theocracy but I like all the songs I've heard so far. The one that left me speechless was the song "Mirror of Souls". That song is a masterpiece!! That was intense! It kept me on the edge of my seat. The last part of the song where the man in the story accepts Christ brought me to tears. The message in that is so powerful! Before I discovered Theocracy I came across the song "And the Rest is Mystery" by the charity project "Project Aegis" and I loved that!
Former Christian and now Atheist here. I grew up listening to and still listen to 80s/90s Christian rock bands such as Guardian, Angelica, Bloodgood, Holy Soldier, Stryper, Deliverance, Bride, Petra, Whitecross, and so on. I came across this song listening to Stryper's "No More Hell to Pay". I like your dad's commentary on the song. He's very knowledgeable about scripture. Mad respect to your pops. I hope you will always cherish your relationship with your parents.
One of my absolute favorite bands and one of my favorite songs by them. A song that always reminds me of how reliant I am of Jesus. And I mean the music is just pure fire! Thanks for reacting to one of the most underated bands out there. Hopefully you will react to their newer material as well.
i am proud of this boy for including his father in his stream. the level of respect and love here is put on display. then, dad, though not completely into it, starts interjecting with useful and positive points. the son wanting so badly for his dad to like the song, but regardless of the outcome putting it out there that he loves his dad and values his opinion.

When he sings the part about the sword breaking off in his hand, I picture the scene from the Lord of the Rings where Isildur defeats Sauron with his father's broken sword...which if you know Tolkien and the Bible there is a crazy amount of imagery and shadow/types just in that scene alone! I really appreciate your dad´s thoughts on the song. I feel it opened the lyrics up a lot for me. I also agree with his remarks about us being the fighters. Theocracy´s "A Call To Arms" actually puts emphasis there. It´s also beautiful to see how both of you are connecting. I pray this bond may become even stronger as you grow older. Just a few tips with your audio: I like that we can hear you very well but the song coulb be a little bit louder. The outro instrumental on the other hand actually hurt my ears a bit since I was using headphones. Maybe you can balance that a bit better.

I believe on the line "You will have to fight for me today" it's talking about Jesus fighting our battles. I'm reminded of the verse "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". Notice it says "through Christ". It doesn't say "I can do all things on my own".
the prayer is a bit iconoclastic, in that though we fight the demons back with the flaming sword, we are peaceful, and await instruction by god, for what we should do to battle the demons.
