That level of play from the leader was one of the most spectacular rounds I've ever witnessed. It really explains the erratic scores in the qualifying rounds. Going full gas when the rest of the card is playing respectably is what it takes to win a tournament with how good the field is now.
I've been watching Jomez for years and that right there was Ricky at his absolute best! Amazing to watch! Thanks for capturing it Jomez, so we could all witness that. Absolute savage golf. He's taking this tournament for sure!
OK, having jumped on Jomez for irrelevant coverage yesterday (friday's 'lead card only' coverage), I gotta give it up: this was GREAT. Seeing all of Ricky's 'All-Time Back NIne' in 35 minutes flat,.... with stunned admiration from his peers, is what made Jomez the best for the last 10 years. NICE.
This course is clearly designed to reward those with huge power and extreme accuracy with fantastic angle and spin control. I think the scariest thing in disc golf must be when you are leading by 4 at the start of the final round, with Ricky in second place. Thank you, as always, to the entire Jomez crew. You've set the bar incredibly high, and yet you always manage to clear it. And then some.
I try to say this everytime I see wet pads. Would be really cool if the pro tour grabbed a tire manufacturer sponsorship to make pad overlays. Would encourage saftey and sure footing. If not take big blowers and dry them off in the morning. Protecting the athletes should be at the foremost of their minds.
@@FumitoUeda how did I say that? I'm just saying there could be more done to protect players. Also, bringing in a big sponsorship of a tire manufacturer sounds like a win win
@FumitoUeda unnatural advantage? Should we rip out the concrete pads? Your argument is lacking a solid stance. I doubt you're even being constructive. Just an over opinionated troll. Players put towels down all the time. Shoot, there is even a pdga approved traction mat.
@@FumitoUeda i can see what you are saying, but rain does go off and on regardless. Some cards will play rainy all round and others will get no rain, some cards will have a wet ground and others will have a course that has started to dry out
I hope it comes up again but I remember in one of the earlier rounds you guys mentioned Ricky saving his discs from the last time he played this course and not using them in-between for like a year...we didn't see it pay off that much in the qualifier rounds but it definitely is here.
Man, Rick rolled this course. He's clearly no stranger to loving this game, and knows the rules. You don't get that full commitment from any other guy. He's really telling us what he's feeling, and making us understand. He's never gonna give up, or let his fans down.
Oh boy, we are seeing Ricky at his finest. I think Paul called it too, he is out to win, and everyone knows it! Calvin just seems to stay calm and cool. No matter who takes it down, this has been a treat! Always an exciting finish to the tour season.
@@BlakJedi907 I am usually pretty late to watching Jomez tbh and the quality could really stand and upgrade to keep up with display technology. The new DGPT deal should really enable some production quality growth.
Gonna need more than 4k cameras. Jumping to editing and producing 4k means upgrading file storage, and depending on what hardware they are using to edit. May require full changes and upgrades there too. I mean, depending on bitrate, 4k footage can be upwards of 1gb per minute. The would need probably multiple petabytes of storage space per tournament. And if you are editing you want that to be SSDs. That’s the real cost.
To go from even on 7 and tied for 6th place to making the best round is by far the best I have seen. I've been following Ricky for a several years and he is my favorite player.
Ricky: misses over half the season, comes in, dominates. goood job =D Ganon: seems to have fallen apart a bit. but after the whole prodigy things, i almost feel like hes just been giving it half effort this year. not saying he "isnt trying" just feel like hes been just rolling with whatever and riding it out. hopefully he gets out from prodigy and feels better next year! cant wait to see him take off. Calvin: Fantastic year. absolutly amazing. rough back 9, but it happens. hes still blew it out of the water all year and its great! Isaac: also fantastic year. i fee llike we saw him alot more this year than prior? maybe im crazy. but hes just another one of those players jsut continuing to up thier game over and over and i cant wait to see where it all goes.
I think I like this format better! For instance Adam shot +3 the first round, last year he would’ve gone home on Thursday from that. I think one and done is not the best way to decide who the pro tour champion is. Because he had that second round he proved he has game here and instead of going home after day 1, he’s now lead card of the final round of the tour championships. And is pretty much the talk of the tournament besides Ricky and Calvin. And nobody would’ve even said his name if last years format was in play this year!
Disc golf won't have fully matured until all these major tournaments are held at courses that have refitted their tee pads with hydrophobic asphalt and scheduled pre-tournament cleaning with custom chemistry. Also installing foot brushes and cleaning stations for footwear should be a no brainer.
These guys can hit the absolute edge of the chains and the putt sticks. Meanwhile, if I'm anywhere other than dead center, it's not sticking, ever. I don't understand.
I've gotta say it. I hate 18. It's an awesome challenging hole to end on, you can have huge swings, and I even love the shape, but all the artifical OB just bothers me. You're saying that on *Nevin,* there isn't a spot with challenging natural obstacles and a viewable pin location to end on? Doubt.
It was a real treat watching Rick absolutely shred this course.
Dude was dicing the course up. Beautiful

How did Burr throw the approach on 18 that far with a stand still? Smh
Almost as crazy as Rickz round!
LETZ GO RICKY!!!
I will never get tired of this amazing background music. Every time I hear the smallest hint of it, I can't help but smile!
Buhr approach shoot on hole 17 was just gorgeous!
"Maybe pressure will turn Cole into a diamond". Yes Jerm.

The potential of rickys shots is insane. If he got good kicks he would have 5 st strokes less
9:02 this upshot from Ricky was so clean😫🔥

If there’s only 12 players, can we get the scoreboard graphic stretched out a little bigger to fit the last two players?
The shot making by this card was insane. Such high level disc golf
Played stumpy creek yesterday and was miserable. I couldn't imagine playing this, should've got a ticket and went to see it in person.
stumpy has just as tight lines, dont need anywhere near the same distance as nevin but stumpy is no joke lol
Ricky is just beyond amazing. He has every shot and his confidence is so high.

"Maybe pressure will turn Cole (coal) into a diamond" ~ that was a very rock solid pun :)

Uli and Jerm saying this is the hardest course on tour and Ricky's like, hold my beer.
I think for Christmas this year Jomez needs to ask daddy DGPT for a new fleet of 4K cameras.
When you watch brand new videos on RUclips, the quality is usually garbage for a bit. Takes a few hours for it to playback at actual quality.

Jerm's joke about pressure turning Cole into a diamond was fantastic - his smirk after was hilarious - and it got no acknowledgement.
What disc is that? What kind of sorcery is this? That Gannon approach on 17 was absolutely insane.
The way Ulli said "this guy" reminded me of a superhero come villain about the good guy saving the day😂😂😂😂
THANKS GUYS!!!
19:37 comedic timing 😂😂
Have I missed all the shots Ricky has thrown with a Slammer or does he only use Harps on this course? He's looking SO GOOD with Harps again!
Holy smokes Ricky. Great commentary fellas, ir we'd have no idea what we just witnessed.
Uli is so funny 😂 Calvin throws his approach and Uli goes “ooo baby” 😂

gannons approaches on 17 and 18 were absolutely disgusting!
personally its so hard to cheer for just one of them when i want them all to win they are all awesome.
This is unique to disc golf. I never have this feeling watching any other sport. It's special

Wow, one of those all timers, incredible round. My only question...where are all the spectators!????
“Bring your best friends…so you have good camaraderie…” 😂
Gannon playing disc golf in Vans gives me a new idea. Vans-style shoes that are actually waterproof trail runners. 🤷♂️
27:59 Gannon is the king of the back hand turnover 🤯
Let's go!!
Disc/apparel design idea for pros: the shape of the follow flight line from one of your awesome shots on jomez.
Big Rick!!!
You don't want Ricky smiling and waving to the crowd ever. (because you about to get choked out)
@bigjerm does that qualify as a Ricki bogie tantrum??? 10/11 birdies right after?
So how many rounds are there in this tournament?
Into a diamond he says
-10… come on!
RIIIIIIICKYYYYYYY LFG !!!
**Heimburg Uncertainty Principle**: when a disc golf player's form changes when they are observed on lead card.
Me and my quad friends ain’t going -9 on the back 9 I’ll tell ya that Uli.

What's going on with McBeth? Is he even playing this year or is he just not doing as well as he usually is?
Had a baby plus some shoulder issue so he ended his season early. He's been out since world's I believe.
is no one else confused as to why they started even on round 3???
Sockibomb!!!!!
