Massive thanks for Jomez for the great videos throughout the year, and double thanks for not spoiling the USDGC winner during the Pro Tour Championships. Hats off!
Looking forward to many years of Gannon and AB battling it out in the future. Those two guys are the future of the sport, and I'm totally pumped for it.
We need chase card coverage also we lost so many action this year that there was non.think Calvin's round today....also a permanent drone would be nice
Yay! Always love to see yourself in the crowd on Jomez coverage! Thanks for everything you do @JomezPro! And thank you to everyone that helped out/volunteered at the event to clean everything up and make it the best disc golf event of the entire year (like it always is)!!!
It wasn't that long ago that I remember watching this guy as a kid battling against peak McBeth on this very course. Now' he's playing like peak McBeth at age 19. The next 15 years of disc golf are going to be incredible to watch. This guy is going to be the Michael Jordan of disc golf. I'm in awe.
What CJski wrote, but little more text. Understable disc and a lot of spin. Spin stabilizes a disc. When you throw an understable disc with a lot of spin, spin keeps the disc straight (stable) and once the spins starts to slow down, disc starts to turn over and cause a late flip. Of course turn ends and fade starts when spin gets low enough. Spin makes the disc stable and one way to see it is that spin keeps the disc in the same angle that it is thrown. If you throw anhyzer, spin keeps it anhyzer. Throw flat and spin keeps it flat. Of course if they throw a very understable disc, it will turn over regardless the spin with the speed they throw. Lot of spin nicely understable disc and you get it. People with less spin can try to get similar result by throwing very understable disc with hyzer angle and the quickly disc starts to turn from hyzer to anhyzer and flip. Of course it is not exactly the same. These elite level pros can all do that, or at least they should be able to do that. You can't throw 600 ft without a lot of spin.
As good as Anthony is, and he is one of the best, he doesn't seem to have the mental game to the level Gannon does, even though Gannon is younger. Can't believe GB took another one. The kid seems nigh unstoppable.
Yeah the sport has rapidly declined in viewership in the last 2 years, which is partly expected since it blew up during the pandemic. I'm finding myself one of those who lost a lot of interest in the professional aspect of the sport, so I can relate (although in my case it's almost only due to the centralization of rights, not a fan of DGN and how they do things).
Not in this comment section yet but I'm constantly seeing where people are saying Gannon is ruining DG and it's boring to watch now... I don't understand, were they saying this when Paul or Ricky were winning all the time? Climo used to win all the time in his day and it was not boring. Help me understand the hate on Gannon, please? Guys a beast on the course so we have to be mad at that?
At least Paul used to get similar comments in his prime and when he was by far the best player, a lot of people turned against him and started to hope that he loses every tournament. That is how it goes. People cheer when you are good, lot of people turns against you if you are too good. A lot of people don't like to see other people succeed in I don't think it is boring. Players like Paul, Ricky, Gannon etc. force other people to get better and it level of the game gets better. No one wins everything.
@@kimmomatikainen1843 Yup! People used to DRAG McBeth online. "No personality" was the biggest complaint, followed by people who used to make fun of his outfits. I've been playing for a long time, but I wasn't at all aware of the online disc golf world until the 2010s, so I can't speak to the attitude of people before that too much. I do remember in the mid-aughts (maybe like '06ish?) some really good players teased me for having a Climo stamped disc. Unfortunately, one of disc golf's most unique aspects-its semi-outsider status-also creates players who feel excluded or defensive when a player shows up who is such a force that he gets popular. It really sucks.
have to say, the Big Sexy Burri commentary was just fuckin 👌 having 35+ years of combined disc golf experience and 3 legends calling it was just good vibes all around, good job guys ❤
Uli definitely favors AB and I get it as them being close or whatever but as a commentator I feel like he needs to be able to say he’s not playing well and that Buhr was shredding him
Commercials in the middle of videos on RUclips don’t work. Just makes me hate the product being advertised, and the longer the advertising the less I’m likely to like it, just interrupting my show at random times is so stupid. Please change that strategy!!!
It's pretty close, the competition taken into account. Though, if you go to pdga's website and look at paul mcbeth's 2015 season I think that will blow you mind. That season was insane
Depends how you want to look at it...McBeth had a year in 2012? 2015? where he averaged something like a top 3 finish all season but the sport has changed so much in a decade...it's the equivalent of Babe Ruth hitting 60 home runs...the field was dramatically weaker back then.
@@thisisreallyverysilly Paul's 2015 was incredible. 26 tournaments and 20 wins. 4 times 2nd and twice 3rd. Never outside of top 3 in 2015. How much money he won can't be compared to Gannon's earnings. USDGC had the biggest 1st prize $8000 and Worlds was $6000 and European Open was $4480. Legestone $4500. Gannon this season. 35 tournaments and 12 wins, 5 times 2nd and twice 3rd. Six times 10th or worse. More competition now and more difficult to win and an incredible season as well. Gannon's prize money. Legestone €15K vs Paul's $4,5K. USDGC 30K against Paul's 8K. EO 12,5K against Paul's 4,5K and so on. I totally agree that Paul had it easier than Gannon, but he was SO much better than anyone else and in my opinion he was more consistent than Gannon is. Gannon is a young guy and he will get better if he stays healthy and motivated. One day he can be in GOAT conversation. Of course he is not there yet even though he might be right now the best disc golfer ever. I hate that discussion though. Discs have improved, forms have developed, money allows 100% professionalism etc. so it is easier to be very good now than it was 10 years ago. Players who have dominated anything ever have always been special. They have been far superior to anyone else in the game.
It is ongoing..McBeth vs Climo the Champ. There won't be a different GOAT conversation at least in 5-6 years. Who else would there be? Ricky? Not even close. You can't serious think about Gannon. 12 Worlds titles vs 6 Worlds titles vs 0 Worlds titles. McBeth has 6 Worlds titles, 11 other majors wins, 24 NT wins. Gannon has what...3 major wins? 0 Worlds titles and then other wins. Gannon's achievements are not even close. Let's bring him in to discussion after he has 5-6 Worlds titles, over 10 majors wins etc. He has chance to be in the GOAT conversation, but takes at least 5-6 years to get there.
@kimmomatikainen1843 I am talking about Gannon. I'm not suggesting he is the guy, but he's on a trajectory to be. I guess I'm asking if he keeps dominating, when does his name get thrown in the conversation?
@@tamarockstar45 Totally agree that he is on trajectory, but in my opinion he is not in the discussion yet. I thought you meant that he is in discussion already. Then we agree that he is on the way there. Few Worlds titles and several bigs and he is in the discussion.
It seemed deliberate from the person in the crowd. Gannon is a lightning rod for fans’ negativity. Only a teenager and making grown folks act like children. I’m a big fan of what he’s accomplishing
The guy followed him around harassing him until he was thrown out of the event. I wouldn't have handled it as well as Buhr did, and I'm a grown-ass man.
Maybe it's just me who thinks so. But such total dominance in sports harms its popularity and quality. Less competition, less entertainment, because people rooting for other players are bored watching Gannon win every tournament
Lot of reasons. Foundation takes time, family changes priorities, has had some injuries. 34 years is past prime. Most likely doesn't practice as much as he used to. Might also put too much pressure on himself to get wins again. Physically not in the same shape either that he used to be. So basically getting older and having lot of other things in his life and not living for disc golf anymore. That's life and happens to most people.

Just wanna brag real quick. I was able to completely avoid all spoilers before watching this event all the way through, and it was a great watch 👏
Same! Cheers
Congrats
Congratulations
I went on a smoking binge so all memory was erased. 🎉
Im just starting this. I have no idea what happens. 🍻
3 finns in top 7 is incredible! Great job!!
Massive thanks for Jomez for the great videos throughout the year, and double thanks for not spoiling the USDGC winner during the Pro Tour Championships. Hats off!
I put off watching the tour finals for that exact reason. Figured Jerm would spill the beans immediately 😆
Pretty sure they recorded this during the event, and just didn't release it till later.
Buhr says to the field: In two more years, you can hold my beer.
😂
he's asking Macbeth to go buy him a 6 pack so he can celebrate lol
Thanks for the spoiler
@@ProXect why are you reading comments before watching the video? Gotta do things in the right order my dear!

Ricky still got it though
Gannon is definitely a lunatic for running that putt💀
When he's that good I guess it just can't end badly 😆
I remember the days when AB was 50/50 to miss from 20 feet. Love how his game is getting better.
Superb coverage this year, thank you Jomez!!

Gannon’s tall, lean stature and hyper successful results reminds of Ken Climo.
👍👍 Thanks for a great season Jomez crew! God bless y’all 🙏✌️
did ab grip lock on 11? bc thats the only thing i can think of
Crowd noise distraction. I would play with earbuds.
I think his body was facing the wrong direction, so bad run up I think
Gannon is a boss! So fun to watch peak discgolf in Gannon buhr! The rest better step up. 19 years old and setting the bar, unbelieveable!

28:05 you can't forget about Niklas Anttila!
5:38 i heard, u heard. We all heard.
How about that car blowing through the stop sign 21:02
I think it was a police car
LOL
I would very like to see a collaboration between makela, gossage, lizotte, and McMahon. Do a best shot Smash Bros vs Stache bros.
What a variety of breaks from two players.
Wow Gannon is amazing 👏 will be watching next years world's in anticipation 😊
What is the yellow and red disc that gannon throws a lot?
PD
This kid is just so good
how did wysocki get his disc to turn only after halfway thru flight. Mine either do it immediately or not at all. haha WOW.
I think the amount of spin that these guys put on the disc is what allows them to get a consistent late flip. Need to know your disc very well, too
