To adjust tracking: put the yellow housing back. Loosten the tension locking bolt, turn the machine on and slightly twist the upper wheel by holding the yellow housing. When tracking is set perfectly, tighten the tension bolt again. These are GREAT machines!
Seems like a nice machine. It's going to improve your firepower for sure. How fast does the bigger one rotates ? I'm always afraid to overheat the steel, as I've managed to burn a few tips on some clients knives even on the worksharp elite (full speed though, 220 grit belt). Nothing I couldn't fix right away with my tormek, but still...😢
I’ve had no issues with heat even while sharpening outside in the high desert at 95 degrees. I think the large fan does a great job of ensuring the motor stays cool. Not sure of the exact rated time. I’d contact Kalamazoo directly to get that answer. Thanks for watching!
@@HonedByJones I’ve got a Viel belt sander that I converted to variable speed motor and boy having problems with it. Both pulleys are 4in diameter to hold 1 inch belts by 42. Belt flies off and top pulley jumps out due to spring tension. Don’t know what else to do.
You adjust the tracking by slightly twisting the upper wheel support until the belt center's before you tighten the knob. ruclips.net/video/fE-_KJfFDKI/видео.htmlsi=DyJ9_JetcrGmyU2C
Great video.
I like your style. (ie No BS). I'm looking forward to future videos.
Shane in Australia.
Thanks! I’ll save the BS for the rest of my life 😜

Yep. That’s how I figured out to do it. Thanks for commenting tho in case someone else is curious.

I used their 2x48 grinder for forever. They make good machines. You should be able to turn the top wheel a little to get your tracking right.
Yep. Thanks .That’s what I do.
Please tell us about your need or desire to access the pulley wheels? BTW, good preview!
Thanks! When modifying the bolster of a knife or in various other sharpening situations sometimes it’s nice to have access to the wheel.
Nice, I am trying to decide between this or a Viel
I’m currently uploading a full review of the Kalamazoo
Where can I get the angel adapter for belt

How much is the rated time?
Can you work for a long time without heating up?

@@HonedByJones Thank you, i appreciate it
Great machine
I agree!
That Kalamazoo does edge leading?
Open the switch box and move two wires to reverse it. Kalamazoo customer service will explain it.
Mine does because that’s what I prefer but as the other commenter mentioned it can be changed.
That purple belt come with it?
Nope. From supergrit.com. I think it’s called a Bora-7 belt.

@@robertmunguia250 - I’ve never used a Viel so I can’t help you out.
