Same store manager at this store also was the manager that closed the Edgewood town center Kmart a couple of years ago.
This was my childhood Kmart store, RIP.

Richard Dremden Wolf I stopped in Sunday at NC and it was busy.
The only other Kmart that I’ve known that has had that look to it (the long store then the triangle entrance with the green roof, that was different from Super K) was the Clifton Park, NY Big K that closed in 2014, a store that my family shopped at a lot... most my school stuff and clothes came from that store- so it’s really cool to see that there was another store with similar architecture... but this one in the video is laid out differently than the Clifton Park one.

You know I am 51 I remember back in the 80's and 90's there where kmarts everywhere as well as sooper kmart's.
Before sooper Kmart came the reg Kmarts had delis, and cafe's you could sit down and eat at, and at the restaurant you would get a waitress. Wow have times have changed.
All kmarts in my area Have closed. I heard there was 9 or 10 of them at one point and have all closed over time with one I think closed in 1995! Everthing in this kmart seems to be going quickly. Of course this place hasn't been updated in 20 years. Great video wallie keep it up!!!!!
It was really sad when Kmart closed down in Mississauga Ontario Canada my memories as a kid in the 1980s to mid 1990s shopping with my mom seeing the blue light in the store distance and wondering what was on sale and remembering getting cotton candy from the machine.

Is that ballcap connected with any sports team? I would think Well Lit is what happens after you have six, eight, ten beers and other alcohol. Also WHY do they have 49ners gear in a Pennsylvania KMart? Does the team need $$$ bad? I would even accept Browns gear in that store.

Catman Mark Blanchard The Super Lit hat is something I think is just generic to Kmart. I've never seen it before. And as for the San Fran gear, when Kmart and Sears stores close, they send unsold merch to other stores. And given I've been to a good amount of closing Sears and Kmarts around here, I'm thinking I have this exact same merch in other videos from other stores. Also... yeah.... San Fran is hurting that bad. Lol

I think that's the case with every Kmart's garden center. You'd be lucky to find a garden center with a few pallets of plants, the entire thing is basically just storage.
Cool on getting that blue light. Used to go to Kmart a lot. Kmart store near me is long gone.
You should check out the McMurray, PA K-Mart since that will be closing (In October) as well.

Drop ceilings and tile floors- THAT'S why Kmart developed a reputation for being a fantastic retailer. Too bad they didn't continue putting money into their stores, a fresh coat of paint, and most of what made Kmart special could start coming back...

The actually make Iron City there now since they moved it to New Jersey.

I kinda miss the old, smaller Kmarts. They were kind of the glue that held small, somewhat struggling communities together. Well, sort of. Then there were the 7-11s run by Arab & Asian immigrants desiring to become entrepreneurs. Get a piece of the 'American Dream'. Wonderful. I liked buying audio cassette tapes there. CDs were a little too pricey for me as a youth. Sometimes a cool shirt in beautiful two-tone colors with a nice seasonal feel.

This store layout looks pretty similar, with a few notable differences, to the one we had in my town growing up. Although that one closed nearly 18 years ago.

I agree with that one with you. As of the other day my last local Kmart is no more either, the name you had just said about the current chairman running the combined company has gone beyond wreckage. I think this is the last year what remaining physical Sears/Kmart stores left will remain.

You didn't film to the right of the front entrance, would have been interesting. Was there anything that looked like the store was bigger at one point? I wonder if that big diamond-shaped entrance was an attempt to possibly expand it into a Super Kmart Center, or if it was.
Another note Kmarts also had their own garage with mechanics, then penske bought them out.

I was just in my local non closing Kmart and that tv is way cheaper that that. It’s still over priced but cheaper than $539
Maybe a bit of a suggestion, but I have heard that there used to be a old theater in Millvale called the Grant theatre, I found that out from a theater archive website.
Cool video ! How much was the blue light ? My kmart here in Kent Washington is closing after 40 years. I grew up riding the $0.25 merry go round and horse in front even ! Years ago it had a KCafe in back , auto shop and snack bar.

I was at a closing Kmart on August 8, 2017 it closed on September 3, 2017 I was about to film it but I was afraid I was going to be chased out by the employees at the time

I went to the Burlington WA Kmart last week. It looks like a big sad thrift store. Merchandise is old and worn. No back to school merchandise or displays. Garden shop hasn’t been open in a couple of seasons. Poor store was dead.

When you are an old man and your grandchildren ask what is that blue light, you can show them videos of a time when people went to actual stores with visible merchandise and service clerks. They will hardly believe you because buying then will be speaking to an Alexa or equivalent or watching screens. There are no "stores".

Hmm I wonder if CVS and Kmart had some type of agreement or if that was just the nearest pharmacy.
It wasn't a deal with CVS as not all parts of the country have CVS. Kmart probably made a deal with either the closest pharmacy or the biggest "chain" in town (in my area everything was switched to Walgreens).
