When this was standardized by the expert scribes, he ordered everyone who had unofficial writings, copies, scripts (that caused the problem in the first place, having not been vetted and legislated by the expert group) to be burnt and destroyed. He did that so that problem will never reoccur in the Muslim world ever again. I find it funny that while Christians try to discredit the Quran using our own sources, they forgot another crucial, practical element that proves that the Quran has been preserved for 14 centuries: 1) It has been memorized for 14 centuries since Muhammad's time until today. 2)Every Ramadhan since Muhammad's time, the entire Quran has been recited in its entirety until today. You mentioned about the Sanaa manuscripts having changes and written texts under ultraviolet light: Was this a student Quran? A personal copy that someone hand wrote? Did he compare it to the other known and official state copy? No investigation whatsoever just:It's different! Got ya!...really?
