      This is the unfortunate situation we've experienced with a few clients:
      Client: Hey Mahe. Hey Derek. I really like this RUclips channel and I'm interested in new homes in Ho'opili.
      Us: Great! Let's get you started!
      Client: I already visited the developers website and scheduled a tour. Can you come with me?
      Us: 😢
      You see, even if you want to work us, as soon as you enter your information in the developers website you automatically get locked in to the developers system. The result is clients feeling confused, even misled, and working with people they don't know.
      Developer: Let's get you started!
      Client: Wait... what do you mean I can't have Mahe & Derek represent me? Who is this sales person that I have to work with?
      To answer your question, this video was edited to include the message in the the beginning explaining this situation "Be sure to enter the lottery, schedule tours and get more info through us - not the developers website."

    Excellent video and great to compare with Maui and Towne Homes lottery we tried 4 times and finally got 9 th choice out of 12 and next phase offered in lottery went up $300K and no upgrades offered. It has taken us over a year to move into or close on Anuhea!!!!! Guess can say Maui is laid back and slow! 🤙 Still trying to put our Kihei home on market but yes missed the top of market!! Still love Oahu I lived and raised 2 boys near Downtown when I was in USCG. Mahalos for all your information and " keeping it real!" note....get out and VOTE!!! Duke 🥰

    Trying to work through the numbers. I imagine the major cost is in the land. How much does the average lot cost in this development.

    • @movingtohawaii
      @movingtohawaii  2 года назад

      In Hawaii the lazy math is that for single family homes the land is worth about 75-85% of the value and the house the rest.
      For condos it’s inverse. Again, not an exact science and they don’t just sell the lots.

    That's very expensive for a cheap wooden house, but that's Hawaii.

    My husband is taking a job transfer with the United States Postal Service. I believe he will be working in Kailua, How do we enter the lottery system for purchasing?? We are moving from the mainland within the next 3 months. We have a budget of about $700,000. We will need at least 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated. This has all happened rather suddenly.

    I’m from Europe, wanting to move to Oahu. What is this with the lotteries? So you can’t just buy new construction? You have to enter a lottery and maybe you are lucky, if not you can’t buy?

    Catered to transplants that keep displacing local generations/and especially Kanaka Maoli. This whole entire area bulldozed over much needed farmland and the natural habitat for our extinct Pueo.

    they want to rid Hawaii of the blue collar middle class that is going away in every Democratic state, prices are over the top and they make them that way so there is the rich and then the poor. manufacturing jobs are all shipped overseas where cheap labor resides. My kids are leaving Hawaii after being born and raised and they can see that the future is out of joint for them and they will never be able to buy a home. So I'm going to sell my home and property and we are all going to move to the mainland to more affordable areas to plant new roots. I've been in Hawaii for 50 years but it's time to go.
