    OMG, that China cabinet is amazing! The way you decorated with it, I can see why it went so quickly. Love it!

    Another great thing to do when it’s slow (actually did this today) is prep for Christmas! Clean, pack and organize. Label your boxes. Price items or put them into your mall’s system now to be ahead of the curve. So much easier to do it now - even if you can’t get to it all - then when the insanity starts! TFS

    I'm so glad to hear you have boxes of inventory you put the work into and then it never made it into your booth! I'm "Guilty" allow. This video is treasure trove of great truthful insight to share. Thanks.

    These tips are absolutely on-point! You touched on this one - prices are up for everything including booth rent, so I believe we as dealers need to cut back on the ridiculous amount of discounting that is so common in our biz. I recommend marking down individual items that need to go away, but resist the 20% - 50% booth-wide discounts. Stick with 10% if your mall has frequent storewide sales like the one I'm in. Don't feel the need to compete with other vendors in a "how low can you go" contest! We all have different merchandise and customers will pay up if we have what they want.

    Such good advice. Wil be sharing with my booth vendor Facebook pages. This weekend my niece and I were thrifting in the Charleston, SC area. The first store was trying to clear out the stacks of furniture in the back warehouse. Prices were amazingly low. Coffee tables which are not popular here were forty-five cents. Yes, you read that right. The pieces hadn't been dusted or cleaned. Just hauled out and stacked on the sales floor. My best sellers in my booth are the cabinets used for nightstands or end tables. Paid $1 for one and $6 for the othe. Bought 10 dozen new and vintage glass Christmas ornaments. I now have about twenty pieces of furniture waiting to be flipped. I feel ready for the fall rush. One thing I would add to your price guide is large pieces must bring in as much as the space they take in a booth. Thanks so much for sharing.p

      Thank you, my friend. Your thrifting adventure sounds EPIC. Excellent point about the larger pieces and the price. Thank you for watching.

    My one year anniversary for my booth is coming up in August. I have seen the booth across from mine change hands four times since I started. Knowing what I have learned from you and a few other RUclipsrs has really shaped my perspective of how to run a booth. The three rule for smalls, mediums and large items is truly a lifesaver. Your practical/straightforward viewpoint helps to see that owning a booth isn’t always glamorous, yet if you want it to be successful then you have to work hard at it.

    I'm not a reseller just an interested viewer. When I go to craft shows I see that people who are selling large paintings also sell small versions of the art, art tiles, posts cards, and the like. There is something affordable to sell so money comes in while they wait for the big items to sell.

    Thank you so much for reminding us to do the Very Smalls and Smalls~ Yes, I know that but, I have gotten a bit discouraged...and yes I have not been sourcing....because of the low sales....sigh....also, many many many 'outdoor festivals and shows' have renewed their presence. So, we have been slow at our Coop.

      @theturnedleg  Год назад +1

      Old hardware I salvage off curbside treasures every week. When I can't save the piece I save what I can. Amazing what will re sell. Salvage I have found curbside, flea markets, from friends and even at thrift stores.

    In my booth starting in May, I try to think of the campers, RVers. I include vintage coolers, plaid Thermos, board games, camping stools etc. My booth is MCM and my display furniture is to " die for" and NFS but customers always want to buy it! Unfortunately I'm not that close where I can run up and stock frequently, that's my dilemma.

    • @theturnedleg
      @theturnedleg  Год назад

      That is a dilemma. I am fortunate that I am close to my space. Maybe you can price your NFS pieces for a price that would make replacing them worth it. You never know....

    I would like ideas for displaying jewelry in my booth. I don't want to use a locked case. Also, if jewelry is not in a locked case have any of you found that it is often stolen? Thanks.

    • @theturnedleg
      @theturnedleg  Год назад

      I only sell cheap costume jewelry. I display it on playing cards. I can display them on a fancy tray or hole punch the top and hang them on pegboard or use little clips or mini clothes pins to hang on a wire frame. A dealer in my mall used an old dress form to display her vintage pins for sale. As for theft...it happens occasionally...although most of the time my items are found in other booths because someone has changed their minds. Locked displays are used for good jewelry in my mall all the time. Hope that helps. The best ideas sometimes come from other booths in other malls...go check some out and get inspired.
