From the numerous Corbet's drop clips, I kept remembering the line this one this guy in a yellow jacket took - jumping all the way to the left, landing at a perfect angle, making the whole thing look effortless. Now I appreciate why!
I broke my hip surfing big waves at age 53. When they set the broken hip with screws and a plate, I got a bone infection. Bone infections require you remove all metal thus my hip would never fuse together. The result was laying in a bed without the top part of my femur, becoming "jellyfish man" enduring 5 hip operations. Much of the damage to my hip is permanent however I was able to surf again after 3 years of rehabilitation.
Unbelievable man glad you got back out there. I broke my neck in a car accident and had 7 vertebrae fused in early 2020. Finally back on the golf course this year 💪 nothing better than getting back to what you worked a year and a half in physio for.
I ski and board really really fast...! But I prefer to avoid big jumps... I want to do this for a lifetime instead of trying to go beyond my limits and get this kind of injury...!
Sadly the lifestyle comes with injuries. I am in my 60s and list of injuries is pretty long. Still skiing and mt biking just not as hard as in my past life. Nice to see him back. There is a saying risk vs reward, remember it.
Id chill on that shit bro. That leg is shattered to peices. What i could do at 20 with perfect knees i cant do now at 49. No matter i dont need to drop 40 foot cliffs onto bad landings. Skiing fast on groomers is fun too.
skiing Corbet's is such a joke for the average tourist who tries it......sideslipping down and jumping into ice hard landings ain't the way, dudes. You'll break things and ruin your good time.

Did you hit a rock?
I as well broke my femur in 2000 and know exactly what you went through. took me 18 months before I was back on the slopes
B Law95 I broke both of my femur... took me 11 month to be back on slopes
Broke it in 2018 and was out for 2 years exactly
Great story. Thanks for posting it. Good luck & pray for snow.

Jackson hole was the first ski resort I was able to go to in the rockies. Roadtripped from east coast. Loved it
it’s in the Tetons not the rockies
