Debated on trading in my current astro a50's for this. I've had issues with mine when it comes to the software, headband, sound/voice equalizer, randomly stops connecting to base station etc. Honestly a shame for how expensive but good these are sound wise
You’re paying $80 more because it’s different drivers which actually sounds better, clearer and imaging is better than the gen 4, hdmi 2.1 instead of optical, much better mic with Logitech blue software, matte base station instead of glossy and you have Logitech quality control and customer support. Definitely worth the $80 since I returned my gen 4’s in for arctis nova pros. Now I’m selling my nova pros for these. Which that tells you something.
Ok i get your point,…..but let me play devils advocate for a second,….yes the drivers are better,…..hdmi 2.1 passthrough just for audio seems a bit much when optical could do the same thing,…..the logitech software is a discussion on its own,…..matte over glossy eeehh not really big deal breaker,…..that being said they do sound better than the gen 4 i just wish their was more IO,….but that is just me
@@G.E.T let me address all your points. Point number 1. The hdmi 2.1 passes video as well, that’s why there’s an hdmi out. Point number 2. Optical can’t keep up with the bit rates of 4k 120hz. That’s why a lot of people are going away from it. You would need true fiber optical with different FP laser instead of whatever laser it uses, and probably an LC connector (I work in a data center, and I’m currently at work that why I know these things) but I don’t think we’re moving towards doing that. Point 3. The Logitech software is leaps and bounds better than the Astro software. You can actually get others eq setting. I don’t remember doing that on the Astro one. It was also buggy for me(the Astro app) point 4. How ever small of a change it is, the community asked for it. As far as the design. It’s a trade mark design. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. And my last point which is huge. Logitech qc and customer service. Now Astro customer service wasn’t that bad. But it was only in California and was frequently swamped and busy. Logitech qc is better. That’s not debatable. But again, it’s just $80 more. I think it’s worth it. For other maybe not. But why spend over $100 if you’re going to complain(not saying you, I’m just speak broad) about it being so expensive. I have a bmw m8. But I don’t go to Lamborghini and ask them why the hurricane is so expensive. I stay in my pocket range. But I love conversation like this. I’ll make my video probably tomorrow and you can see what I say about them.
@@1youngkash ok points taken,….thanks for the retort,…..i too work in the tech sector (cyber security) with that said i was just saying if you didnt have the 80 dollars extra the gen4 was still a viable option,…..and then if we have 4k 120 pass through why not add a capture function in there? That obviously would raise the cost a bit more. Still would be interesting especially when it comes to capturing console party chats - which are notoriously bad. To your point about complaining and why buy it,…..the video was not intended to be complaining about them just my opinion,…..i collect tech because i like it when new stuff comes out and like to see what direction hardware/and software are going. I think it's the time for me to upgrade my a50 gen 2 😀 I'm not sure, is the a50x worth it? The sounds quality better than the old ones? Or should I go with a40 tr with the mixamp pro (Almost 5 years old headset) BTW with your PS5 setup you can't use the Chat/game balance on the headset

I had a similar issue with the A50 base station,….had to replace it with a new one

They should work fine but that would depend on which ones we are speaking about,.......is there a specific one you would like to see

The passthrough should work with anything below monitor that has hdmi2.1 or below capabilities
