I think Desmond is a commendable actor and artiste - He takes pride in his craft and his professionalism shines through, even in his insistence to present himself in his best form always. On a side note, I really like the train analogy that Yifeng gave - 人生就像一道列车，不同人会在不同的时间点上车和下车，但列车会一直往前开, and we have to be ok with that in order to move on. Rooting for Desmond!

Actually Desmond is a much more genuine person compared to Rebecca Lim. Because he has no shrewd agendas, thts y he speak without thinking and hurt the friendship. But Rebecca on the other hand ,she admitted to her term as "people pleaser disease". She claims to want be low profile,but her actions all showed otherwise. Such people actually are very tough on themselves n tired internally. They act both in real and reel lives, pretending they dun care about the impressions of others. If so, there wouldn't be the pretence of showing details of her personal life while claiming humility. Fake humility to be exact. So Desmond shld let go of this friend, The old doesn't go, the new doesn't come. There's no such thing as real BFF in this world. This is reality. How many friendships can withstand tests ? Well, Desmond feel the pressure of the toxic environment he's in. Everybody is different. There's no need to compare this and that. Desmond is more introverted than those two you mentioned. His character is great, He's not here to act in this show but to share his experiences.
I think saying you have to be "mysterious" to the public becos you want to be a serious actor is a load of crap. Have you seen how open and earthy Chow Yun Fatt is, always taking public transport and walking the streets of Hong Kong? If you can act, you can act. Dont get absorbed by such superfluous stuff.
If you are looking for something exciting, go watch dramas instead. Sometimes when talking about one's growth, struggles or the lessons learned in your life, they aren't particularly exciting or anything, but it is still important and impactful. In fact many things in life are mundane. I think that's why their audiences enjoy this type of heartfelt interviews to understand someone better and in the midst of it, picking things up that we can also learn in our lives and conduct as a human being. I don't think this episode is boring but extremely insightful. I can only say such shows aren't your cup of tea.
