In Germany a popular drink (with the older generation) is Rumtopf It takes a while to prepare You take a large mason jar and put a lot of rum in it When different fruits are in season you put them in the same jar In the Winter you have fruit flavored rum You can speed it up by using flavors
I rescued an old Rumtopf jar from a skip years ago, it was made in the late eighties and comes with its own "Made in West Germany" stamp on it! Always meant to try using it to make some, maybe I finally should
I use this brand to create flavored vodka mixers. They are a great company and the essence last a while. I have a few that are 3yrs old and still just as good.
Great looking recipes. Will have to try some during the holidays. I really love absinthe and it comes in so many forms, so tweaking with these extracts would give you your ideal absynthe.
What I'd love to see you make is hard seltzer concentrate. It is so popular right now and seems easy enough: some flavor concentrate and neutral spirits, mix and match your flavor of choice and mix with seltzer.
Olive Nation licorice for SAMBUCA !!! You're either on the love it or hate it side when it comes to licorice flavor. I am solidly on the LIKE IT side. Fond memories of eating licorice cigars with red speckles (simulated the hot ash look, almost cartoon style) on the end as a kid...
Merry Christmas to you an yours Jessie. Thanks for doing what you do and fingers crossed I actually pull my finger out this year and sort out a patreon package that suits. Keep chasing the craft mate
Now we are talking, Love making drinks in a bottle and sharing with friends, I would suggest with Christmas coming, making a Candy Cane... Trust me my wife friends loved it Made a bunch of 4 oz Largemouth jars and made them look festive... great Christmas gift and who does not like Candy Canes. by the way Loved the I have to drive in 3hrs... LMAO
I have used the Olive Nation Peach Extract to enhance the flavor of peach brandy. I have a bunch more to try. I would love to see you make a Coconut Rum using the Coconut extract. I have some Buccaneer Bob’s working off now and plan to make some myself. Would like to see how it works.
I would like to see you make a spicy cinnamon with a rum base using the Olive Nation cinnamon oil. You could also try making a lemon drink using the oil and/or extract and comparing it to your Limoncello made with lemon peel. No matter what you make though, can't wait to see it!
Dude you have to try the Bacon flavor with maple and bourbon .love your channel. Ive just started out with a old style essencia still and your vids have been a great help 👍
Lovely couple! Definitely gonna try the last cocktail. Would love to see you make a spicy ginger rum with the Olive Nations Capsicum Flavor and Ginger extract. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Belgium.
Jesse, great video as always! I was thinking of a drink that you can make using Olive Nation's extracts. My wife loves Malibu and Pineapple. You could use their Coconut and Pineapple extracts with one of your Rums and some other flavors you think might compliment them. I always found this drink too sweet and needing a more rum flavoring. Maybe using an aged or brown Rum could switch it up a little..... Maybe your wife would like it too? Keep up the great work on these videos!
Awesome as always mate! I think Olive Nation are taking over youtube. They have featured in at least four clips I’ve seen this week by various “brewers”. So tempted to get online and buy a selection of their products, but will wait to see if I win your comp first 😉. How about you do a Chai spiced rum? Assuming there’s some left after the customs debacle 😂
Okay so I don't have a name for this drink, but man it's tasty! It's equal parts: Screwball peanut butter whiskey Baileys Irish Cream (your homemade Bailey's could be pretty awesome in this!) Sheridan's Coffee Liqueur and/or available chocolate liqueur I think it could be re-created with the following of their products: Creamy hazelnut super flavor chocolate/cacao extract Irish cream super flavor peanut butter flavor And combined with some of your handcrafted spirits. No idea as to what ratios would work best though.
Hi Jessie, some of the extracts just sing "hot toddy" when I have a cold or allergies. Would love you to play around with eucalyptus, ginger, lemongrass, mint, honey and more to create something we'd love to drink warm.
Hey Jesse, I love your channel and I’ve been recently looking into making anise or Licorice liquor I love sambuca (black) and would love to see your take on that!😁
Jesse, I hope your eye and allergies get cleared up soon, maybe try a chocolate cherry or chocolate strawberry Irish sipping cream with the olive nation flavors. Merry Christmas.
Jesse: LIQUID CHERRY CHEESECAKE In a Rocks Glass (Ice is optional) 1.5 OZ Vanilla Schnapps 1.5 OZ Cranberry Juice It's tastes just like Cherry Cheesecake. Whipped cream is also a nice topping for a shot. OliveNation has Vanilla extract - Make some Vanilla Schnapps Jesse. For those in US: Dr McGillicuddy makes a Vanilla Schnapps. There is another brand called French Kiss. You should be able to find them in Nip bottles or Pints. Cheers!
Try to make some limoncello with some. The Distillery/Brewery I work at is currently investigating flavor companies for some beers were planning... so this is timely.
One of your best uploads mate. Fish tank cleaner! You should make the Misses a bottle of fish tank cleaner tasting spirit and see what she really thinks!!! Would love to see that reaction video.
Contest: I feel like something with the chocolate, vanilla, and maybe almond or coconut would be yummy with some rum to kinda create a tropical treat. Or perhaps the green apple and apple sugar/butter with a bourbon or moonshine would be good. Though I think a wild berry (blackberry, cherry, raspberry) vodka would be cool
I think a caramel apple bourbon may be in order... Or white chocolate liqueur. Edit: Jessie, Did you notice when you poured the no ice southern comfort in to the Glencairn for the side by side, you grabbed the makers bottle with the Old Fashion in it? Or was there more film magic in that than I thought...
I wonder how a peach flavoured whiskey with their "Peach Super Flavour" would go. Not sure if the peach would just be overridden in the whiskey but I am a lover of both flavours.
Hey Jessie! If you want to make a "real" version of SoCo - use bourbon and add simple syrup, cloves and citrus peal, to get something closer to what they produce. Personally - I'm NOT a fan of Southern Comfort so.... I would like to see you make an Ouzo clone - with a clear spirit, simple syrup and an Olive Nation Anise extract. Thanks
This is my first ever comment on RUclips. I hope this hits the mark. I love your content, you got me to take the leap and start distilling and i love you for that. The use of essences however are destroying the "craft brewing industry" (heavy beers such as stouts and the more recent release of sailor Jerry). these are false flavors that we can closely relate to, however know are fake and for me are more like cough-syrup are not appealing nor part of the natural production process. Please do not bring these things into the home brewing sector unless you genuinely like it and think it adds to "CRAFT". Don't sell your soul.
I used some coconut extract in 750ml of my rum. I used the proper amount and found that I wanted a little more coconut flavor. The more extract that I used the less that I tasted it. I used the whole bottle in my 750ml and I tasted none of it in the end. I was disappointed but also curious as to why it happened the way it did.
Question for the tribe, just made up a birdwatchers and used the calculator for 7 gallons. I dont believe it ever started fermenting. I am using a fast fermenter for this batch. Only thing I did was accidentally add lemon juice twice (mark off the list when you add something) my ph is 3.4. What can I do to get the fermentation going? Thank you in advance
I love your wife’s honesty! Great video.
Old fashion for her no ice tasting of your southern comfort. Green apple sounds good.
Chocolate rum liquor, sounds perfect!
In Germany a popular drink (with the older generation) is Rumtopf

You take a large mason jar and put a lot of rum in it

The mixes sound interesting. The chi would be cool and a tropical punch drink would be cool to try.
Huh, that's a interesting idea!
Hey Jesse, Jesey here. Thanks for keeping me company through my lunch break!
Hope you had a sweet lunch break haha. Cheers Jesse!
I use this brand to create flavored vodka mixers. They are a great company and the essence last a while. I have a few that are 3yrs old and still just as good.

Ahhh that could be fun!
Loved the video Jesse. Gave me lots of ideas!
How about some green apple, hopefully sour.good videos by he way I am fairly new to distilling and your videos have helped me out all
Cheers mate :)
I would like to see you do something with the black currant....such an underrated flavor.

Absolutely fantastic video very interesting indeed is there anyway you can do one on home brew southern comfort
Southern comfert style drink is in his video :) haha
What I'd love to see you make is hard seltzer concentrate. It is so popular right now and seems easy enough: some flavor concentrate and neutral spirits, mix and match your flavor of choice and mix with seltzer.
Olive Nation licorice for SAMBUCA !!!

Olive national got some funky flavours lol , I'll sticking to Still Spirits.
Hey Jesse, great video. I pick hot buttered rum
How about a good rum punch using these extracts?
Jesse, great video as always! I was thinking of a drink that you can make using Olive Nation's extracts. My wife loves Malibu and Pineapple. As a fan of absinthe I would love to see you make Sazerac

Ah yeah that would be fun for sure
Love the channel Jesse! I'm a Harry Potter fan... maybe something with butterscotch that could mimic Butterbeer.
I think you should make a Banana Foster Rum with banana extract, vanilla and mac nut cream.
What about a cream base with banana flavouring. Thanks for sharing...which version of the flavouring are you using?
im into anything caramely and butter scotchy. i have never found a butter scotch essence so might have to grab some.
hey Jesse, give a kahlua a nudge with either the coffee extract or the cappuccino one
"all ways a good gift to give the kahlua
Gosh, it's been years since I made Kahlua to gift during the holidays. Unfortunate, since everyone loves a good Kahlua.
Hmm an Coffee Espresso, Caramel Flavor Fountain, French Vanilla Flavor whiskey would be quite interesting I do think!.
You already made my favorite drink, (Old Fashion) but I would like to see you make (The Sawyer) it takes 3 different bitters.
Okay so I don't have a name for this drink, but man it's tasty!
It's equal parts:
Screwball peanut butter whiskey
Baileys Irish Cream (your homemade Bailey's could be pretty awesome in this!)
Sheridan's Coffee Liqueur and/or available chocolate liqueur
I think it could be re-created with the following of their products:
Creamy hazelnut super flavor
chocolate/cacao extract
Irish cream super flavor
peanut butter flavor

Make a margarita one at 40% please! Love your videos, great work!
Try Bailey's with vanilla vodka and coffee ice cubes 😉
How do you like the olivenation flavors? Got a few from the the 2nd watermelon was great the first tasted like liquorice?
Hi Jessie, some of the extracts just sing "hot toddy" when I have a cold or allergies. Would love you to play around with eucalyptus, ginger, lemongrass, mint, honey and more to create something we'd love to drink warm.
OMG! You need to mix Orange with Vanilla and make a Dreamscicle!
try making a mai tai varient with the almond extract
Hmmm yum !
Try a spiced rum
I've always been a suckered for Sambora:)
Hey Jesse, I love your channel and I’ve been recently looking into making anise or Licorice liquor I love sambuca (black) and would love to see your take on that!😁
hope the eye is okay mate! I'd either make a gingerbread spirit with the brown sugar and spice extracts or a chocolate hazelnut spirit!
You should try doing some kind of amaretto
Maybe even try with nut Milk and clarification techniques... Just throwing some ideas around to see if it sparks an even better Idea by you.
Hmmm that sounds fun
I think a peanut butter whiskey, that seems to be somewhat popular here in America. Cheers mate!!
Skrewball! Haha yeah that would be fun.
Hi Jesse, where can I find the recipe for polenta whisky?... Cheers mate
Jesse, I hope your eye and allergies get cleared up soon, maybe try a chocolate cherry or chocolate strawberry Irish sipping cream with the olive nation flavors. Merry Christmas.
Black cherry brandy? What base liquor would you start with?
Jesse: LIQUID CHERRY CHEESECAKE
In a Rocks Glass (Ice is optional)
1.5 OZ Vanilla Schnapps
1.5 OZ Cranberry Juice
It's tastes just like Cherry Cheesecake.
Nice man! That would be fun for sure. Good luck on the essence hunt!
how about making a blackberry nip with their extract, and maybe one with a twist? that would be cool to see. Old school drink with a new school kick.
Have you considered making Tuaca?
One of your best uploads mate. Fish tank cleaner! You should make the Misses a bottle of fish tank cleaner tasting spirit and see what she really thinks!!! Would love to see that reaction video.
Make anything grapefruit. I love grapefruit.
Maybe try to make what the world needs, a breakfast whiskey. Blueberry and maple extract and then fat washed with bacon drippings.
Haha awesome!
Good video🤟
Jesse, what was the ml on the 90 drops of bitters?
3ml :)
Blueberry lemonade moonshine
I think a caramel apple bourbon may be in order... Or white chocolate liqueur.
Edit: Jessie, Did you notice when you poured the no ice southern comfort in to the Glencairn for the side by side, you grabbed the makers bottle with the Old Fashion in it? Or was there more film magic in that than I thought...
Their hazel would work well for Frangelico
Hard seltzer.Instead of distilling a sugar wash. Filter by gelatin and pour in a beer keg Add carbon dioxide and then add the flavors.
I wonder how a peach flavoured whiskey with their "Peach Super Flavour" would go. Not sure if the peach would just be overridden in the whiskey but I am a lover of both flavours.
Just got to the "Southern Comfort" part of the video hahaa

Personally - I'm NOT a fan of Southern Comfort so.... I would like to see you make an Ouzo clone - with a clear spirit, simple syrup and an Olive Nation Anise extract. Thanks
Chocolate mint liquor
Receipe for mango rum
Would be interesting to see you put together an eggnog
He has an aged eggnog recipe posted. It’s really good have some aging right now!!
Orange Julius would be cool
Could the cough medicine taste be coming from the cherry extract? Here in the states most cough medicines are " cherry flavored"
How about a Bailey's Banana Colada using the banana extract?
Not necessarily for a competition mate but wouldn't say no but would love to be able to convert to a decent peach schnapps if you're up for it
Where do you source your syringes from? 😳
How about using their extracts and make a gin, how do you think that would taste?
Hmmm interesting
That could be fun
Yo Jessie, what about a blackberry mead liqueur, honey extract, blackberry extract and maybe something else mmm gonna try that. Have a good Xmas bro
Could you knock up a Malibu style white rum with their essences Jesse, that would be simple but interesting 👍🏻
This is my first ever comment on RUclips. I hope this hits the mark. I love your content, you got me to take the leap and start distilling and i love you for that. Something with almonds would be nice
maybe a black cherry alcoholic syrup for ice cream? merry christmas guys. or maybe a black cherry bourbon.. I love bourbon btw.
Jesse...try making Absinthe with Olive Nation's extracts.. I've been using them for over a year...I love them.
Ah awesome thanks man
Now to me, Southern Comfort tastes like Halloween Candy Corn pureed in Vodka.
Just too sweet, but people love it.
I think caramel, popcorn, and peanut butter would be delicious. Call it Cracker Jack moonshine. Cheers
I used some coconut extract in 750ml of my rum. I used the proper amount and found that I wanted a little more coconut flavor. The more extract that I used the less that I tasted it. Add some Sodium Bicarbonate. Need Ph up around 5.0-5.5 to keep yeast happy.
