lol Just like what you call the tree you make arrows from? Arrow tree! What do you call the weed the pacu eat? Pacu weed! They just call everything what makes sense! lol
Roven is now by far my favorite ME presence. I could watch this dude hunt and fish for days. Steve: "What do you call this?" Roven: "Lunch time." LOOOOOL
Thank you for showing so much love to my mother country. As a Guyanese living in America I have mixed feelings on the state of the country but if there’s one thing I miss is going into the bush to catch fish.
This has been one of the most satisfying videos I've seen. Bowfishing is one of my desire I'm yet to experience. Got my bow and everything. And I'm from Guyana.
I remember watching these three episodes over and over on amazon prime. I wish meateater would do a whole series like this. The bolivia episodes were cool too.
Time to bring Rovan and Dennis for some US hunting and fishing, would be great to shoot a bunch of episodes and see what they think of Alaska or Montana, Idaho, etc….! See them on a grizzly hunt or elk or goat or even turkey would be amazing!
As always , thank you for narrating as though I'm listening to an audio book. I close my eyes and listen to the river sounds while you explain the experience, and then I have to open my eyes because I HAVE to see it. Great job from everybody!
I have watched a ton of Meateater videos so I'm recommending that you guys carry a WADING STAFF for fast slippery water. It's like having a third leg: always two points of contact with the bottom.
I have learned that in water that is swift you can only wade so deep ..once past that depth in a strong current nothing can keep you from being swept away ...I have stood in water that ripped the small stones from under my feet and it was less than knee deep...!
Always good to have you guys come and experience the nature, culture and food of Guyana! We appreciate the respect you have for the country and people as well, first video of yours i'm watching, but im definitely subscribing and consider me a fan!
Recently read “The River of Doubt” about Theo Roosevelt’s river exploration in the Amazon. This video brought some of the prose of that book alive for me. Well done.
This has been a great series, my dream fishing trip is either Guyana or Suriname. Two of the last truly wild, unspoiled countries left. Nicaragua for Dovii Cichlids would be a wild tip too.
Luv it, this is the 2nd episode I finished watching...I grew up in 🇬🇾 and always luv fishing 🎣🐟🐠 ... Not until I came to live in 🇺🇲 did I start fishing with rod and reel ... Luv the editing, visuals, scenery and luv seeing my beautiful motherland...❤️🇬🇾🎣🐟🐠🇺🇲🕺
“Im not like you” 🥾Steve inspired me to start bow hunting a yr ago. Only squirrels so far 😅 This is my new favorite video 🏹 Race you to bow hunting in Japan, we got 10 yr starting now. Mark, get set, go!
This seems like the kind of place that Steve oughta bring his son one day as a sort of test of manhood and a reminder of the purity of the hunter’s lifestyle.
Just seen a video on EWU about some guys who found a human head while hunting. One of them had a meateater jacket. Would be an interesting conversation.
I just finished watching a documentary of mattucci warriors. They were hardcore their one leader with no hands killing with knives attached to the stumps of his arms.
I have been subbed to this channel for about 5yrs or so and I havent seen one of your videos for a few years now. I just saw a YT Short that finally reminded me of this channel. I am subbed to about 2k channels. So when I check my subs page I am subbed to so many channels that I never see this channels videos.
I know waxing poetic about a simplistic lifestyle pays the bills, but all the "neediness" of modern society (ie not drinking brown jungle river watter) has also given us a better than even money chance of making it past 30.
I’d like to see a series where Steve brings Rovan to the US for some of his style hunting and fishing.
Same!
Yeah
Getting a Visa for a Guyanese passport holder would be a nightmare.
Steve American boots made the fish left hahah.. that was so funny
Man, I didn’t want this to end 😊😊 I got emotional at one point. This series was absolutely beautiful. Thanks guys
Over the past 3 episodes I’ve actually gotten pretty attached to Rovan and Dennis
Rovan have an unmatched energy and positive vibe that’s so welcoming
The lads for sure
I wish they’d bring them hunting in the states
This guy's humor Is great poking at Steve as most guys do just busting balls great video Steve the camera work is spot on
theyre good people! He also guided deermeatfordinner when he was in Guyana
love the line…not land discovered, rather land forgotten…beautiful writing this episode
I'd like to think its just how Steve talks and how he choses his words
What do you guys call this when you put all these different foods together? "Lunch time" 😂😂
lol Just like what you call the tree you make arrows from? Arrow tree! What do you call the weed the pacu eat? Pacu weed! They just call everything what makes sense! lol
The awkward silence choked me up lmao
😊
@@pjsama I think its just their nature, he probably thinks Americans talk too much. silence is nice when you don't feel uncomfortable.
Roven is now by far my favorite ME presence. I could watch this dude hunt and fish for days.
Steve: "What do you call this?" Roven: "Lunch time." LOOOOOL
you can check out deermeatfordinner, he came to Guyana as well and was guided by Rovan
Thank you for showing so much love to my mother country. As a Guyanese living in America I have mixed feelings on the state of the country but if there’s one thing I miss is going into the bush to catch fish.
Bring Roven to hunt in America, he’d probably love that, or take him to Alaska to do some fishing. Show him our country!
Good call
Steve cooking and I don’t mean fish. These episodes are top tier man
Wow the Guyana episodes were great! Gives me appreciation for the people, the river, the wildlife, and the country there.
I wish nothing but the best for these dudes some of my favorite episodes
look how awesome my homeland is.🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇵🇸
I'd love to see a few episodes roll into one long one, a few times. The suspense is a killer in between episodes..
I would love to see Steve invite those guys to Alaska
Any episode with Steve will get me to watch it but this series is down right interesting no matter how you cut it
Cancel all plans, new meateater just dropped!!
Not that I haven’t seen this 7x over the years. But not this year.
Guyana is a biological masterpiece ❤
This has been one of the most satisfying videos I've seen. Bowfishing is one of my desire I'm yet to experience. Got my bow and everything. And I'm from Guyana.
Love this Guyana series, thank you for sharing 🐟🐟🐟🐟
This is by far the best series on this channel. Love it.
I remember watching these three episodes over and over on amazon prime. I wish meateater would do a whole series like this. The bolivia episodes were cool too.

Awesome what a truly incredible adventure. You should feel blessed to partake in such a trip with Rovan and his family. 👍
Steve and Rovan make a great team that’s for sure. I always love the South American videos! 👍
The pacu is beautiful, this show is so good!
Steve is such an all round good dude. Thanks for uploading.
Bring these bros to the cabin Steve. You gotta.
anyone else think these episodes should be 1 hour long ?
Love the South America episodes. Love em all but these are of course especially interesting
As one who bow fishes the Missouri River, this is awesome
Best meat eater episodes I’ve ever seen. Keep up the good work.
As always , thank you for narrating as though I'm listening to an audio book. I close my eyes and listen to the river sounds while you explain the experience, and then I have to open my eyes because I HAVE to see it. Great job from everybody!
The Native have lots of skills and knowledge.
Rovan is the OG walking around barefoot and using what looks a handmade recurve bow.
Love when you go out with tribes. The Bolivia trip was another favorite of mine. Love your perspective
I'm amazed how these episodes with Steve in them , increase my desire for more! The next best thing than to being there.
Thank you for showcasing my beautiful country Guyana.
These are the Best meateater episodes
Dang, this is beautiful. I am living vicariously through Steven.
Live in Canada born and raised in Guyana, never been to places like this... Love my country.
the colors on those piranhas are epic.
THEY ARE PACU
one of the best episodes ever
Very well put together. Great ambassador to ones life and home 👏👏👏👏
i never realized how colorful Pacu could be...always seen images of them being dark..
Those falls at the end... unbelievable. What an experience!!
These guys are real men.
I have watched a ton of Meateater videos so I'm recommending that you guys carry a WADING STAFF for fast slippery water. It's like having a third leg: always two points of contact with the bottom.
First thing I do when I’m out in nature is get myself a good stick!
I have learned that in water that is swift you can only wade so deep ..once past that depth in a strong current nothing can keep you from being swept away ...I have stood in water that ripped the small stones from under my feet and it was less than knee deep...!
Of course it's Pacu weed lmao, in love with the simplicity of his naming convention.
How blessed Steve is to have such an opportunity
Always good to have you guys come and experience the nature, culture and food of Guyana! We appreciate the respect you have for the country and people as well, first video of yours i'm watching, but im definitely subscribing and consider me a fan!
Check out the episodes in Bolivia! Some of my favourite
Recently read “The River of Doubt” about Theo Roosevelt’s river exploration in the Amazon. This video brought some of the prose of that book alive for me. Well done.
That last thing you said was beautiful Steve
Yeah I thought so to. Dude can really put into words what you didn’t even know you were thinking
Thank you for sharing this adventure .
This particular video made me really miss Guyana and fishing tambaqui. Amazing stuff Steve ol’ boy.

"Get rich"? That dude is too smart to want to "get rich."
I wish I was as ‘rich’ as those indigenous chaps ☺️
His already rich!
Those guys are cool as hell. I wish them and theirs the best of travels.
This seems like the kind of place that Steve oughta bring his son one day as a sort of test of manhood and a reminder of the purity of the hunter’s lifestyle.
My beautiful Guyana 🇬🇾 ❤️
Filming and edeting is the best I can remember on your canel, Steave & co.

His guy is just too good
Amazing episodes!!!
Beautiful
I've been waiting for the new episode and finally it's here! Haha
Some small irony to boarder patrol sponsoring an episode abroad
Pumped!! Feel like drilling some carp in the harbor after that 1!! 🏹
I find it very interesting that Roven is as curious to know how you perceive his home as you are to discover it.
Loved the episodes
Guyana 🇬🇾 yours to discover ❤
