    In the early to mid 70's, on a hot and windy August afternoon, the kind of day that has the trees in constant motion. I was just kicking around on piece of ground in my home town, by myself no friends just me. I know it was a Sunday because nothing but Mikes Milk was open. Anyway, I was walking by a local FORD dealership in our town, probably the only one back then. They had a 1969 FORD semi truck sitting in the back of their Lot. Kinda odd because it was a car dealership. Now I was probably 10 to 13 years old at that time and I had always like looking at trucks on the highway. This day I walked over to this truck that BTW it was is fairly rough shape, I don't even know why I think it was 1969 but that number has stuck with me whenever I think of this story for some reason. I reached up and pulled on the door handle and it was unlocked. No one was around so I climb up into the drivers seat. I said all that to say this. That day A trucker was born. I didn't know how or when, I just knew that I would drive a truck for my job. And in 1982 that's when I started. BTW the first truck I ever owned was a 1979 MACK Cabover California Cruiseliner. Thanks for this channel it's bringing back lots of memories like the one I just shared. Be well.

    That or a dodge was the first semi truck i ever rode in and got hooked. The thing that makes me not sure which one is the corner covers on the front of the cab. Im more likely to think it was a dodge because those things on it were made into the cab as vents

      The best ones were aluminum cans and they had the lowest production. I drove a 72 model from 79 to 81 and the cab was already stressed.Better than GMC or Chevy but not as good as White or Mack

    What are the chrome covers on the corners of the cab? Ford and Dodge COEs seem to have them.

      Deflectors maybe, to stop the spray ending up on your mirrors 🤷‍♂️ over here they did that with Mark 1 Atkinson's by moulding the fibreglass on the corners of the cab🤔

    What are those chrome cab corner things?

    • @MissFlatbedRed
      @MissFlatbedRed  25 дней назад +1

      They’re supposed to keep rain off the windows and mirrors. It a Canadian thing that made its way into Michigan

    Why did Ford stop making trucks? They would probably have a top seller in the industry if they still produced trucks with their name on them
