As much as I loved Winston and Lupita in Black Panther, I wish them both the best for their careers. And this goes double for them as well as Jordan Peele since I love Peele's writing and direction since Get Out ( I'm going in blind for Us since I don't even know the concept for the film).
Ryan Coogler - Orchestra like directing and leadership. Quiet and subdued. The conductor and coach. Jordan Peele - intelligential and cerebral. An extrovert. Knows what he's doing and know their world view in his story. Both are good at mimicking and check in from time to time.
He's a lot more vulnerable and emotionally intelligent than most men. Couple that with his knack for expressing himself eloquently and I think that's your answer.
Ryan Coogler played college football at Sacramento State before going on to film school at USC. It's definitely no surprise that he takes a bit of that football coach mentality when it comes to directing his films.
It is so nice to see the media pay attention to well-spoken, intelligent black artists beyond the stereotypes. I wish these two were dating in real life.
