It's OK to question a new GM over the teams picks. Brad has had 3 drafts in a row where he has nailed it. Whatever he and the Lions scounting staff decide on is good enough for me. They have shown they can draft quality players, I have every reason to trust them now.

@@robwark7554Right? I remember so many drafts where after 3 years not a single drafted player was still on the roster and many were not even in the NFL anymore. The Lions were terrible at drafting. But, Brad has shown me he knows talent. Feels good to finally have my team make quality personnel decisions.
Agree that he hasnailed the last 3 drafts, but the Lions had high 1st round picks and multiple draft picks to work with in those years. This draft we are way back and have limited draft capital to work with. 8f BH can work his magic this year and draft even 2 first day starters in Positions of need, he will have knocked it out of the park. One thing he has not done to date is overpay for moving up for a draft pick, or allowing himself to get undercompensated for trading vack. He will also not mortgage away next years draft picks for one this year. Let's see how the master chef coojs this draft. Vikings GM, packers GM and Rams GM are all buttsore from deals with him. Other teams GM's are wary of doing deals with BH now. The onlybtije I think BH madexa bad deal is when he gave away Swift to the Eagles last season for a 5th round pick. Swift was and still is a top rb in the league, and he had another whole season on his rookie deal. Trading him to an NFC SB contender for a 5th round pick was abad deal.
Except that Swift really didn't tip the scales for Philly and is now a Bear. @@Charleybones

I've been a fan for a long time. Decades. Holmes has spoken to the press more than all gm's combined over 50 years.
Every time I hear Brad talk, I can't help but think that he is just so smart. I sure am glad that the other teams he worked for didn't figure it out.
If the GM & HC do it right, our days of top 20-30 draft picks are done. That’s a product of on the field success. We Lions fans best get comfortable not drafting the most promising guys, but the guys at 30-60. Those guys are guys that can be developed. As well as the late round picks. Look at Malcolm Rodriguez, guys a solid pick that does whatever is asked, and would likely be a solid starter on other teams. We need those kind of guys, on both sides of the ball and if rockstar special teamer comes up take him.

What's to wonder? He's made it pretty clear, he doesn't care how ANYONE(other than Dan and Sheila) feels about his roster decisions. He's not only said it, he's proven it! Any doubts should have been gone with the 2023 draft!

I fully trust BH! The only pick I questioned was Brodric Martin. Not because of the player but the amount of capital in the trade up to get him. Other than that he's batting 1.000 in my opinion
We got both La Porta AND Branch past the 29th pick... No reason to doubt he won't kill it at 29 OR even trade down for extra picks.

We will trade up and get our guy. We just don't need all these draft picks right now. Look for us trading up twice. First to around pick 16 using our first and second round picks then again back into the third round.

29 isn't 2 anyway. I am sort of in favor of a trade down anyway. Obviously depends on some factors right? So I don't see it as a bad thing. Then, again I won't be downtown for the draft, but if you're going be realistic.
Talent-wise, there's no real difference between pick 29 and pick 33(or even 40). The only real difference is the 5th year option. Picking that late, I really don't care what he does.
I’ll have to listen again to verify, but I’m not sure I heard Brad Holmes use the word value when discussing the draft. That SHOULD be very telling.
I’m guessing Brad already knows who he’s is picking in the draft.
To KNOW who you're picking, you have to KNOW they'll be there. To know exactly who he's drafting, he'd either have to trade up or have a script that tells him so.
