    Hey, thnx for this detailed video. I wanna know if i complete an undergrad degree from the uk or canada will i be elegible for admission and how can i do the prerequisites along with undergrad. A levels has some lab work involved and i did study Biology, Chemistry and Physics so does it count as a prerequisite. Also are there any fully funded scholarships given to international students?
    Thanks

    • @BeMoAcademicConsulting
      @BeMoAcademicConsulting  3 года назад

      Thank you for your question. You must complete an undergrad degree to be an eligible applicant. You can complete your medical school prerequisites during the undergrad in UK or Canada (Canada is preferred). A levels will typically not cover your prerequisites. You can apply to internal scholarships, since you will not be eligible for most state and government funding. Internal scholarships are mostly given out based on need.

      Hi, thank you for your question. Yes, you can look into getting a master's degree, but you can also try taking a post-bacc program or taking some undergraduate courses. The best way to decide which is better for you is to reach out to the admissions office and get their advice how this requirement can be met by you.

      Thank you for your question. Firstly, as an international student you are not going to be eligible for most federal or state funding opportunities. However, you will most likely be eligible for internal awards. Please visit this page to learn more researchadmin.hms.harvard.edu/award-lifecycle/finding-funding Regarding extra courses and labs, there is really no course of study that would give you a competitive edge. You are strongly advised to take science and social science courses to prepare you for the MCAT and the study of medicine.

If you are an international student who wants to complete your undergrad in the US, you must write the SAT or ACT and prove your proficiency in the English language. Thank you for your comment. What matters for admissions committees is your academic history, the quality of your extracurriculars, your essays, etc. Just because someone went to an Ivy League university of their undergraduate degree, does not mean they will get in. Graduating from less famous colleges does not hurt your chances.

    • @HannahTran1
      @HannahTran1 3 года назад +1

      @BeMoAcademicConsulting  3 года назад

      @@HannahTran1 It does not matter which school you come from as long as your application components are spectacular. Anyone who wants to get into an Ivy League medical school must work very hard to make their application stand out. Firstly, you must at least meet the GPA and MCAT thresholds set up by previous year's matriculants. You must also impress the admissions committee with your extracurriculars, essays, and recommendation letters. All these application components will play an important role in determining whether you get an interview.

      Hello! Thanks for the question. Yes, Harvard Medical School does accept international applicants. However, they have a highly selective process as well as specific coursework pre-requisites. Harvard requires international applicants to have studied for at least one year at an accredited institution in the United States or Canada, and have completed the specific subject-wise course requirements (available on their admissions website). While they do accept applications from students with international educational backgrounds, candidates with degrees from accredited institutions in the US and Canada are strongly preferred.

If it's been a while since you have taken the correct prerequisites for PA programs (like science classes), perhaps you can enroll in a few classes in a local community college. Hello, thank you for your question. You can pursue an MD degree in Harvard or Stanford if you are an international student, but you must complete at least a year of college in the US, Canada, or the UK.

      @@BeMoAcademicConsulting But mam it is written on Harvard website that a medical student of any country will not be allowed for MD program. But on stanford website it is written that if they are first or second year student then they can be allowed. So will I get allowed ? Is 3 yr bsc degree in Physics, chemistry ,maths and one year of mbbs in India not a complete pre requisite?

      @@sneha3999 Harvard medical school states: "While we do accept applications from students with international educational backgrounds, candidates with degrees from accredited institutions in the US and Canada are strongly preferred. Students are required to complete at least three years of college work and a baccalaureate degree prior to matriculation."
