It´s time for the next planespotting episode from Corfu airport. Following the videos on my channel from 2018 and 2019 this is now the newest edition from Summer 2022. Corfu airport is one of the most spectacular airport in the world. Very scenic approach and departure together with some interesting traffic.

This brought back so many memories of a magical holiday. Fell inlove with Corfu in 1980…sooo long ago🤦🏻♀️
Honestly, I could just sit under that parasol with a large ice cold chocolate milkshake & a camera watching those planes land all day.
What a lovely location to sit & chill.👍

We made the mistake of booking a package holiday at the Multi-Story hotel you can see at 2:22 and several other times in this video. The village is called Benitses. Right overlooking the flight path and that Runway was in use All Day and All Night every single day. You couldn't even get drunk enough to pass out to get some sleep. We never slept a wink in that hotel, the planes are actually below the level of the hotels and a lot closer than they look in this video. The only way we got any sleep was crashing out on a beach somewhere near Ipsos. The approach is like a funnel so the noise is concentrated and bounces all around both sides of the flight path.
Corfu is beautiful but don't get within 10 miles of that airport runway, the airport is extremely busy and the noise is unbelieveable. Worst holiday we ever had, Beautiful Hotel but holiday ruined by that runway and I would Never stay in that area again and, wouldn't recommend it to my worst ememy.
Congratulations, you are satisfied with little, I would rather be with a beautiful girl and enjoy the holiday.

@@philyew3617 Those hotels are mostly for plane-spotters /lovers and generally for people not having problem watching (and hearing) the planes come and go. Surprisingly(?) there are lots of them...

I went to Corfu many years ago, and I remember the spectacular landing, It looked like as if we were to land on water !

Thank you X-Spot Aviation; agree it’s a fantastic location for spotting on either upper levels, on the walkway just south and on a small track really close east of the runway. We’ve spent plenty of hours there, either side of a Greek meal or some Mythos. Perfect!

I’m in Corfu right now! I wasn’t expecting such a scenic landing at my arrival a few days ago, it seemed like the plane was touching the water when we were finally able to spot some tarmac to land on
We go back yesterday from corfu, when we was coming into land, I thought, my god where's the tarmac 😆
Super aus allen möglichen Perspektiven gefilmt,10 Daumen hoch. Vor Ein paar Jahren da auch Urlaub gemacht, traumhaft.
the sounds of Greece. the cicadas drowned out the jets. A great spotting terrace at that bar too. Zante island runway is the same, approached over a busy road. Wow that blue banded Condor wasn't easy on the eye at all.

That MD-82!!! European Air Charter previously named Bulgarian Air Charter. I was driving on the other side of the airport and had to stop to watch it. It came two times in two days. Its rare to see that plane here. Also the Condor 757 almost had a bird strike on takeoff I think

What a fantastic spot ! Amazing view. A place to go in case of visiting Corfu
It's unbelieveably noisy and it's 24 hrs a day non-stop. I wouldn't stay within 10 miles of that runway ever again. It's an extremely busy airport, and yes I have been there and stayed in one of the hotels overlooking, (the multi story you can see at 2:22 and other times in the clip). Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. Holiday totally ruined by that runway.

Fantastic holiday, just bleeding fantastic. 14 days of sunshine, kerosene fumes and noise, noise, noise. My wife left after 2 days, went of with some Greek bloke on his fishing boat. Someone saw the boat anchored in the bay. Said it spent hours rocking from side to side, even though the sea was flat calm. She still can hardly walk, something to do with a huge Greek sausage she ate.
Is her name Shirley Valentine?
We were there last week. Yeah that is a good spotting place

Why don't they cut those frigging trees down? Or at least trim them so you can see the whole runway? Having said that, Wow, what a great plane spotting video!
The two hotels on the corner are great for spotting. If you want a relatively quiet holiday, forget it.
I flew on the MD80 LZ-LDS out of Corfu to Linz on July 8th. There was just 5 of us passengers! Nice to get one last opportunity to fly on one. I filmed here too on that day. Annoying how the trees have grown covering the runway view since a few years before

I know this area well. I once stayed in the Pink apartments at the end of the runway. (Anna’s Apartments) Fantastic for plane spotting.
I was about to stay there as well. Unfortunately was fully booked this time.
@@XSpotAviation Yes the last time I had to stay in the Ariti Hotel just up the road. I have been watching the planes from this location for the last 40 years. Back then the Livery’s were much more interesting and varied and quite a few wide bodied planes like the B767 A300 and A 330 were daily visitors
Stayed in the Ariti as well. It's true that the traffic was more interesting back in the days. However, still fun to film in such a scenic place.

Oh, what a pity. We were about another 1 km along the coast from this point and from our hotel balcony could watch the planes dropping their landing gear for this gentle final approach. Noise was not a problem there. Corfu is an emerald, we had a lovely holiday exploring, eating and bathing in the Adriatic. And those sunsets...!
@@iconicshrubbery I think your geography is a bit off. Corfu is nowhere near the Adriatic. It's in the Northern Ionian Sea and, at it's closest point it's less than two miles from Albania. It's so close they have a constant problem with illegal immigrants actually swimming across to Corfu from Albania.
I was on vacation on Corfu and i've seen these places and i was on these places that was amazing i was on Corfu 6 days ago

I remember first landing Corfu in private jet people on restaurants balcony seemed so close
I landed on that Jet2 Flight 951 from Manchester, but unfortunately was the worst 2 week holiday I have had. Its the first holiday I wanted to come back after a few days. It was so run down, empty buildings, graffiti it really needs tidying up. The Airport though was great, easy process both landing and departure. Wish I could have been in that Hotel watching all this.
Sorry to hear that. You are right about graffiti. And it's not only in Corfu. It is everywhere. It's nice to see one or two and beautifully drawn but they are everywhere in Greece and most of them are ugly too. I cannot understand why the Greek authorities don't do something drastic about it. Greetings from Athens.
Try Wellington airport on a windy day, this is easy, not sure if I would buy a front row House inside a jet engine though?
the md82 of european charter LZ-LDS is 29 years old, almost the same as the one that crashed in miami from the Dominican Republic, the one that fractured the front end
