I started playing literally like 2 weeks ago, and I think right now is the BEST time to start playing. I get to come in here, enjoy a season that many people think went on for too long, then in just 2 months I get to play through not only the NEXT season, but also the 3 PREVIOUS seasons. So hyped!
I started last fall. One thing I would tell you to consider: Savescumming once you get overclocks. Thank me later ;)
Same. I started like a month ago and I’ve dumped so many hours in I’ve already finished this season so I’m glad I’ll have plenty to do lol

The season being so long wasnt quit as bad as some make it out to be.
I personally used the time to take a break from it, to play some other things and come back refreshed craving for more just in time for the content drop.
Glad to hear were still getting new players too.

The fact that the devs earn a lot of money without microtransatcions is wild but at the same time great, cause they can do stuff like this.
But.. cosmetics are micro transactions..

The best part about this is that it kills FOMO. That battle pass doesn't go away if the season ends. No greed, just a dev team that wants you to have fun.

There already was no FOMO to begin with since old season cosmetics just get recycled into the random loot pool so you can get them later. Now we just get a more direct and easy way to get specific ones

There was no FOMO since season 1
But this method fixes the loot issue we had, as previous seasons loot was put in crates/backpack/matrix core/cosmetic shop/etc.
What is the season pass, and what happens to it once the season ends?
Can confirm that the Spacerig will change depending on the season you choose.

As one of those people that got into the game in Season 4, I'm hyped. I'm essentially getting 400 performance pass levels to work towards in the next season. Which seems overwhelming, but having that "next" item to work towards is always nice.
I am not surprised that your unused cosmetic cores would go away. They probably tried to implement both systems, but that would cause too many overlaping issues. The simplest way is to undo the changes they made to make them into cores.

I genuinely think this is a wonderful change. Especially for those of us who have had our precious mining sessions cut short clocking in hours to make a living. I've loved this game from the start. Promoted my Driller in the very first play session I had with it, I was so hooked. But the one thing I could never have enough of with the game, was time. This gives us all a chance to make up for that lost time we couldn't spend spelunking away at battle passes, and I'm thrilled for it. Rock and Stone!
Started the game in season 4 and man I love that game and hate myself for joining the Party so late. So for me it is the coolest dev move in a Video game I ever saw 🎉🎉 Thank you!
The fact that they made it so no matter what happens you aren't complaining because even if you're friend wants to play a different season playing together rewards your selected season and everything else like that just goes to show how much games have went from a focus on fun to a focus on monetizing (talking about AAA games being greedy not DRG)

They saw how helldivers 2 done their battlepass and used their system to fix the loot bloat problem we had this past 3 seasons
The Ghost Ship devs are claiming W after W, I'm so proud.
I like the changes that are being made to cargo crates. I've been trying to get more Neon Band and Scale Brigade skins and i've just been rolling all Waster and Milspec skins from my crates. Didn't help that crate spawns are super low to begin with. It will be so much easier to get everything in the game when you don't have to open twice as many crates.
I see the seasonal cosmetics being swapped for stuff from the non-seasonal cosmetic pool as a way to finish that grind while still having easy access to the seasonal stuff through the seasonal performance passes.
I've got all my overclocks, but I have a long way to go getting the various cosmetics from base game and seasons 1-3, so I can swap the seasonal cosmetics for the more annoying to find ones locked to the loot crates, lost gear, cosmetic cores, etc. and just do the pass for the seasonal ones again
I was just watching your Season 5 video from awhile ago and now this pops up in my feed
this is SO GREAT for the game! Gives players chances to get things they missed or just play in a time period they miss.
But what I think is amazing is how much more freedom this gives the devs for season design!
Now they can truly do anything without worrying about alienating older or more hardcore players, if they add some new crazy thing that completely flips the entire game upside down anyone who doesn't like it can literally just say "no" and switch to an older season.

I started playing 6 months ago and I have 20 days on the game, my friends tell me to get a life. So it'll be nice to go through the previous battle passes
i love this considering i got here last year in july so missed a ton and hopefully i can get the boys out of videogame burnout to help get these passes done
9:33 i would normally agree with you, theyre just taking it away from you so that you can re-unlock it again, but the part where they mention that they will be giving you a different core indtead makes me feel a lot better, becase at the very least, youll still have the same number of cores to forge and if you havent crafted that spicific cosmetic yet, im gonna guess you dont care too much about that cosmetic in particular, and dont actually care that much that it got moved from the forge to the past season pass
They should make it so the loot pool changes every fey days or hours so that you can have many cosmetics but about 1/3 are chosen at random or something to make your chances better in a way
Just a question for the community, but what was your favorite season based solely on the performance pass? As in, what season had the best cosmetics and battle pass rewards in your opinion? I started playing in Season 5 and am about to max out the performance pass. I don’t know what season I’ll swap to yet but hopefully I can get some insight here. Thanks 😊!

Hope that they allow access to season select at 50% rather than 100% like the turn off this season functions.
Eh, I don't like them removing our cosmetic matrix cores that are unlocked but still unforged.
I haven't crafted many of them because I have been focusing my resources on weapon OC's, so I have a good handful I don't want to just get RNGed to other stuff.
Now I kinda regret recently unlocking seasonal cosmetics if I could get those for just a time investment later on.

I think I started to play the game for like 1 month, and well im curious about the previous seasons because I also heard this season wasn't the great, but I honestlly dont hate it, however im curious about the other previos seasons, honestlly DRG is one of the best games made, this is how a game looks when de deis actually give a fuck honestlly
So since they are bringing back old season rewards back does that mean we also get new weapon maintenance rewards from the older seasons? Because the weapon maintenance rewards feature wasn't a thing until the first midseason 4 update. If so, this could mean we are getting 16 new weapon colors for each weapon next season, 12 from the previous 3 seasons , and 4 for season 5
No, the original 4 that we got was to make up for the 4 seasons that had past. 1 per season, retroactively. We will get another colour set for season 5 though

I love how the DRG devs played Helldivers 2, saw that they had redeemable warbonds for anytime you want to redeem them, then implemented into their game viva season passes, I hope more game companies do this kinda thing so there no more FOMO
they had this planned way before helldivers 2 even launched
You can read about them wanting to implement something like this way before Helldivers 2 was a thing. Still great of them to actually do it!
