I'm not rich, my parents are hard working people who saved up for their dreams. This is a big misconception alot of people have about the Hamptons, there are plenty of us who are local and arent rich af like the city folk who only come out in the summertime. This is why I'll always say the hamptons are a good vacation spot, living however is a pain in the ass
@S not rly, I'm not rich, my parents worked hard before I was born. Even now, I'm on unemployment, get financial aid for college and have like no money. It's another reason I dont like living out there, too many kids I grew up with were super rich and always showed it off, just not my vibe

I have a theory that's probably wrong ?? I was thinking the reason they were having a food fight is to show that the Hamptons aren't as perfect as everyone thinks. They obviously aren't perfect people, they fight, and don't live perfect lives even though they live in a 'perfect' place. Then the guy comes along, cleaning their mess up, getting rid of it as if it never happens so it can go back to being a seemly perfect place.

Reminds me of an autobiographical short story I wrote about my family. We were having a fight in the story. The teacher told me to rewrite it because "It's not how rich people act." Lol. I rewrote it the way she wanted it. The cliche. She didn't realize the first story was autobiographical. She just kept insisting I didn't know how rich people behaved. ::Roll Eyes:: Just because you have money doesn't mean that people are kind behind closed doors.
I definitely feel like there are multiple interpretations that would work and that's probably what the artists were going for. Notice how all the food was like cheap barbecue food that any normal person would have an outdoor party but looked out of place at a rich people party? I interpreted that as the uber rich needing everything for them to be so much better than what normal people have, even though really nothing is ever good enough for them. And then it demonstrated how wasteful they can be with food and probably everything else, like bought goods in general. This song is brilliant honestly

I adore this song...I have loved for ages. I’m in the Hamptons this weekend and just had to listen to this song.
This song is awesome and this band is great. I really hope they hit it big and stay around long after anybody can remember what Hey Violet was. I don't understand why people are talking so much about the message of the music video since the video is clearly just there to provide the mood. I think the lyrics are very interesting and worth being discussed but the music video not so much. This, to me, is just a thing that should be enjoyed in the background because the video is about the song and not the other way around like in most other stuff.
