Farm up vital essence to restore hearts .best place to farm the garlic is in the lofty trees use gathering charm and start at the catavan stand stick to the left and you should come up to a great jaggi and two jaggi there are three berry gathering spots near them gather the garlic and fast travel to the catavan then do it again and again until the charm wears out. I got 60 in one run .then get meat from the tall boys in the first area don't bother with aptonoth raw meat is a rare drop from them .boom craft vital essence .

The first one cannot be stopped, as Nergigante will immediately regrow its spikes and they will immediately harden, you have to tank it. After that, Calamity Slash can be prevented by at least having one of the parts broken.
There is a item that blocks any attack no matter what 1 time it eats the attack for you. But to use it well you must know your monsters well, because it requires and hinges upon your ability to predict moves.
45-50 will make you quite comfy just spam repeatable missions of the highest rank mission you have unlocked on the quest board and youll reach that point so much faster than you imagine , while turning in 10 stones over and over is boring and time consuming it is a steady sure fire way to get to par for this particular fight (another option is multiplayer seems it yield really decent exp as well)

calamity slash is the nergigante gene XL and calamity slash hits like a fkn brick once your monsties hit higher levels.

I overleveled to level 42 with me and all my monsties, tomorrow is my battle
Took me freakin 42 turns before I defeat nergigante using HH with evasion skill
I have all lv 30 monsties, zinogre weapons and armor, 3 Electric monsties and i still cant beat it
