Why even if partition happened by sudden but when peace agreement is established, can’t these families be also united again deciding wherever they want to live together. This must be the responsibility of armies and governments to take these issues at priority and let families be united.

It may sound philosophical but it is necessary for a land to be a part of the country, so the other parts beyond that land could be safe, the people can live in a place where they don't need to be afraid of the government or military (Pak and China), they can live peacefully and earn.
Yes that’s very true…my question was purely philosophical, and that’s not how the world works. Ownership also keeps changing across centuries, even though the land still remains just that land…
