Gorgeous composition, and wonderful performance, complementing Frost's immortal poem, and greatly expanding its feeling. Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.
Played this for an honor band and the director was one of the ones who helped dedicate the piece so it was really special for him to conduct it live for the first time and it was a really unique thing for us to get to do for him.
Beautiful performance! 6:12 was a belly-button puckering moment, but everyone (including the conductor who did a FABULOUS job overall) handled it well.
Thats crazy!! I played in Festival of Winds last year and it was an amazing experience. I found this piece because our high school band is playing Dusk and I wanted to explore more pieces from the same composer. I'd love to meet him!!
saw this peice's world premiere and a few months later and were playing it in band... beautiful peice, UNT plays it really fast though (supposed to be 48bpm)
Thank you 🙏🏼

The emotion you feel from this is beyond words
Wonderful energy. I especially admire the release at the end. Clear and gentle.
