Have you recently purchased new pro audio speakers and now you are trying to figure out what to do with them? On today’s Pro Acoustics Tech Talk, Nathan is discussing how to mount professional audio speakers as well as sharing some of the best options for professional PA speaker mounts and stands.
*Speaker Stands & Pole Mounts
Lots of pro audio speakers these days have holes underneath called a pole cup or a pole mount that work with tripod stands or pole mounts. To install, take your pro audio speaker that has a hole underneath it, pick it up, and set it on top of your stand. Some tripod stands have cranks to raise and lower automatically and some you just tighten and raise up and down with a collection of safety pins. Speaker stands, tripod stands, and pole mounts are especially popular for portable setups.
*Speaker Wall Mount Brackets
If you're looking for more of a permanent type solution, we also have a line of permanent wall mount pole cut brackets. The speaker mounting wall bracket gets mounted to the wall. Your speaker gets set up on the arm. From there, we've got some angle adjustments that we can do. A lot of speakers from companies like JBL and Electro-Voice also have their own mounts available from the manufacturer. We also have more standard options from manufacturers like Gator Rack Works.
*Flying Speakers
Some pro audio speakers are designed to be suspended or “flown”. In those cases, you have your box-type speaker and you use an eyebolt kit to allow the eyebolt to screw right into the top of the speaker. From there you can use your chain, aircraft cable, or span sets to suspend the speaker.
