I got this a lot going to a black school as a mixed girl, it was said in a derogatory way 99% of the time, like I thought I was better, men wanted me more, I was seen as a trophy for dark men. They tend to fetishize "redbones" more than white women. In fact, look at any rap video. How many white girls do you see? I can't think of any. They're always light-skinned brown girls. That's what a lot of black men like. Even white men tend to find us "exotic" (I've lost count of how many times I've been told I look exotic). Just saying. Even if it's some other ethnicity like Hispanic or Asian, it's not generally white women they are looking for anymore. That's no longer the most desirable in our culture, even. That's why so many white women tan 😂. Also, sadly, why so many dark skinned women bleach their skin. They're all trying to get to the middle where we attract both sides. For the record, I'm not trying to flex, I've suffered a lot for the way I look. I was physically attacked dozens of times in high school by girls I didn't even know, and almost every time they would say something like "you think you're cute because you got good hair/light skin/boys want you." It was so brutal I started skipping school until I got kicked out. Guys wouldn't leave me alone and their girlfriends wanted me dead. They especially liked to scratch my face and pull out clumps of my hair. It was a really rough school. But you experience a lot of hate from insecure women when you're mixed. Even within my own family, both my white and black side coveted my features. My black side scowled at my "button nose" long, curly hair and light skin. My white side made snide, jealous comments about my curly hair, bronze skin and full lips. We tend to blend features of both, which apparently is very attractive to people.
