Is too much algae in a pond bad for the fish? Well, it could be, but it really depends on the amount of dissolved oxygen you have in the pond to begin with. Algae and other plants will have an effect on the daily and even hourly levels of oxygen in the pond water, and if oxygen gets too low at any point it could harm fish.
