One of my favourite bands. This band got me into harsher vocals and metal in general. They blend pop, electronic and metalcore perfectly. You should check out their song 'Losing You', which is their most popular song. As for the vocals, the screaming is always expected in metalcore. Many bands choose to mix the screaming with cleaning singing, like Dead by April. If you're not used to screamed vocals, they can sound a bit jarring at first, but you eventually get used to them.

Thanks for your reaction as always! It's 2 different vocalists in Dead by April, most of their songs feature the mix of the 2 vocal styles. 'Losing You' is another good example and more popular than this one. This is one of the first groups that got me into the rabbit hole of Metalcore music and whilst I love the song it also makes me think of how I'll feel towards my kids when my time comes (as I do have several health conditions, and family history, that make me think my time could be a bit limited....)

Does anyone know what happened to this vocalist? Why would he leave the band? He sings really well, the current one does too, and I think he was the one who founded the band as well. I believe he used to be the one singing at the beginning, but I'm not sure. If anyone knows, please tell us, as i said before, The current vocalist is also good, but it would have been great if this vocalist was still in the band. It would be amazing if both of them sing together.
This same vocalist also sings the song "Beautiful Nightmare" and it's a really good song too. He sings "As a Butterfly" and it's also a really good song.

The current vocalist is Pontus Hjelm, who also does guitar and most of the songwriting. He co-founded the band with Jimmie Strimell, the founder and original clean and unclean vocalist. The one doing the cleans in 'As a Butterfly' is Zandro Santiago. He did many of the cleans in the second album and all of the cleans in the third album. He left in early 2014 because he wanted to pursue a solo career instead.

@@spitz5183 I just want to clarify a little my comment in case it wasn't understood well. What I had said is that the current vocalist is also one of the founders of the band, but I'm not sure if he was also the first vocalist of the band. I mean, when they released their song "I'm sorry for everything," which I believe is from their first album, I'm not sure if he was the vocalist and if it was him who performed this song. By the way, I came across this song in a Naruto Shippuden video about Kakashi's story and his companions Rin and Obito, in one of Kakashi's memories when Obito gave him the Sharingan. As I said, someone put the song "I'm sorry for everything" in this video and that's how I discovered them. But as I said, the current vocalist was one of the founders of the band, but I don't know if he was the first vocalist of the band around 2009, or if there was another vocalist. So if you know, please let me know. Greetings from Mexico.

@@canexfex5325 Jimmie Strimmel, the founder, was the first lead vocalist. He did all the singing and screaming on the first album. Pontus, the co-founder and current vocalist, did backing vocals then. I hope this cleared it up for you. Also, it's great to see people discovering this band. They are so underrated.

@@spitz5183 I've known them since 2011 with that Naruto video on RUclips as I mentioned before, but I didn't pay much attention to them until a few years later. It was around 2015 when I started listening to them more seriously and I liked them. Of course, I listen to many other bands as well. By the way, I recommend that you react to the band Carnifex and their latest song. I know you'll like it if you're into deathcore too. Greetings.

@@canexfex5325 Nice! I've been listening to them since late 2010, I believe. I first heard their song 'Promise Me' on a COD MW2 montage video. After that, I became hooked. I'm anticipating their next album. And yes, I'm a big deathcore fan. I'm familiar with Carnifex, though I don't listen to them. I'll check out that song.
