Yeup, your thought processes are on point. That's why some homes are built on a higher elevation or the homes on the coast are built on stilts.
Other homes susceptible to storms have folding doors that close to protect the windows or have sliding metal shades that come down.
Others don't build roofs with sheet metal but instead use cement or well secured ceramic tile roof coverings. Material that will stay in place and not fly off.🤔

Power has been out here in Hocaba since this morning until less than an hour ago, 11 pm!
There was no real excuse for this either. The weather here wasn't that bad.
Lately the power has been going out here for the day once every other week or so, sometimes once a week!

I was a little bit scared, you know how las americas can get. My husband and I traveled to chiapas and tapachula to avoid the hurricane, and nothing happened.
