This song has a spot in my heart my son was born in 2016 and only survived for a week but for that week this is the song I listened to all week I haven't gotten it but the plan is a purple rose tattoo for Nathan
If youre by any chance european, and in germany next spring, i'll do it for free man.
@@badumtsss6210 Respekt bro
My condolences. I hope you got his name in a rose tatto by now, and if i ever believed in an afterlife - Nathan would still be young, but so strong there.
Dropkick Murphys Goin Out In Style, don't care if you react.. just listen to it
The pogues are the king of this stuff. Angry, Irish punk. I’d recommend “bottle of smoke” or “gentleman soldier” or “boat train” as a first listen.
I have 4 tattoos. My wife has 7. It's its own kind of therapy. It truly is. I have no names on me, none the less, they are a great release and a great way to remember.
I have no tattoos but this song makes me think about scars and the stories behind them.
@@CLTCMNDR Same kind of thing. I have Enochian, Norse, Wedding ring... all inked.
Love this song! The collaboration with Bruce Springsteen was amazing.
Thank you for this. I am a Christian but I also like hard rock and heavy metal.
Being of Celtic ancestry I like Celtic Punk Rock
This song makes me think of my grandmother from whom I get my Irish heritage. Her birthday is in March and I have her on my skin for life. This song is for all those big events in our life and in memory of those who inspired us and meant something. For us to show they meant something to be immortalized on our body. To carry them with us forever.
I am a 40 yo metal head…mostly. That said, if I could have a theme music crew follow me around like in I’m Gonna Get You Sucka…they would be playing this song.
Its best video on Your Channel for my point of View.
Thanks for honesty, Sori!!!
[Me selfcensoring and no sharing views on christian songs because peace and love and craps]
I saw Dropkick Murphys in 2012's Hellfest and they played a "new unreleased song". It was Rose Tattoo. I love that band, no matter if they bow down to capitalism (as we all do).
Check out The Worker's Song and Fields of Athenry
DKM are kings. Great reaction!
The official video is soooo much better!
So amazing, thank you both!!!!!!
The piper from DKM piped at my (first...yikes) wedding. I don't know if it was that or needing a bouncer that made our wedding the most punk rock ever.
My kids loved the version of this they with Bruce Springsteen
Best band from Boston!!! 😁
I play this song every month & all day on 3/17☘🇮🇪🤲🎵
Someone should get you two to listen to "far away coast" by them. I remember they made a lot of fun songs and a lot of songs that spoke to a lot more.
F'n Dropkicks!!!! All day, almost everyday!!!
On “the man that raised me” comment. Honestly this phrase is used a lot. In my opinion, it’s a much stronger statement than saying “this is my father who raised me”. You’re not distancing, you’re doing the opposite. It commends a human being for the undertaking of raising another human being into this world. A man feels most recognized for when he is seen as human. Same can be said for the mother.
Ken Casey's dad died when he was a little kid, Ken was raised by his grandad, "the man" he is referring to in the song
Rockers/metalheads etc are among the nicest and honest people you can be friends with. Some might look scary, but thats just the hard shell around a sweet fruit. And if you ever have any problems in life, those are friends you can count on to be there. Like a big family with a few crazy uncles.
Should check out Flogging Molly, they have a similar Irish punk sound. ❤️ 🍀
Similar but better.
The tattoo is for his grandfather who raised him after his dad died.
Im recomended see the official video❤❤..
Green Fields of France will make you you feel a lot of emotions...
Helluva song.. definitely a tear jerker
The singer Al Barr’s original band The Bruisers is a lot better (just my opinion of coarse). Saw them play with Ramallah in Providence
Let's go Murphys!
Check out the song Naked with the band Heroes, also a tattoo song.
Kid Rock - Don't Tell Me How To Live. I'm just waiting for the reaction lol.
Saw them and Rancid in Brockton Ma and I have never seen so many of those hats
Drove 150 miles to see Dropkicks/Rancid in Wichita, KS. Worth EVERY f'n mile!
@@dkmcbigsley Who opened at the show you were at? Rancid opened for the Boston (Brockton) obviously but I figured they would have switched and with Rancid headlining Berkeley
@@CLTCMNDR Dropkicks opened in Wichita. The way I heard it they were swapping nights
@@dkmcbigsley I only knew two Dropkick Murphys songs. I was there for rancid but I admit that DM had a pretty epic set being the hometown show
@@dkmcbigsley I saw rancid at bogarts in Cincinnati when they toured for let's go. Maybe 95?
I was just listening to this song for the first time in a while last night . It’s crazy to see a video all of a sudden . Right on
You need to react to more requests which are not paid for.
Such a banger
Love the tribe reference..
I was called out for me being frog my history teacher said I would get a if I could get everything correct
you should liste to their WORKER SONG -> I think it is close to your values.
Metal?
If you like irish inspired music, you might like Tir Nan Og: ruclips.net/video/fC9POw-FMNw/видео.html
The official video is pretty moving.... Just saying...
Check out "Gates of Hell" by The Bruisers.
A port is a nautical term
Should do the descendents massnerder
Sori I'm a doctor and my arms are covered in tattoos. No need to run.
Why does everyone have sad story's bruh
should have played the OG music video for respect to the band/song, shame
Judgment at it’s finest
Your digging too deep on this. Anyone who has tattoos that represent thier family or passion in life. No more, no less!
Be careful going to shows. I went to Jinjer in Boston last weekend. I'm home sick with COVID this week. Wear masks and get vaccinated, get booster shots. By the way, the show was awesome and I would do it all over again! 😁
No thanks
The visuals chosen by the lyrics video are trash.
What are you referring to with the "streams"? I mean, livestreams, obviously but some context is missing.
The song came out before covid so no way is that accurate.
the rose tatoo is a tribute to his grandfather who raised hin after his father died who was the most influential person in his life and in his view most determined the man he would grow up to be
by the way, DKM is an Irish punk band who broke through into the mainstream in Boston, they are not a metal band and their "scene" would be punk not metal, while there is crossover the two are distinct.
Irish ethnically, not from Ireland, they are Boston "southies"
In terms of why he says "the man that raised me" he IS talking about his father, but since the song is addressed to his grandfather, it would be his son, and saying "this one's for your son who raised me" sounds even worse in terms of a way to refer to his own father. but "my father" has three syllables, so it doesnt fit- also while the song had a specific personal meaning for him, since people who are listening are going to be singing along, it has to work for that too and for them their "rose tatoo" can be tailored to their own meaning.
He's talking in the second person, which is unconventional for a song or poetry, and all these factors contribute to that word choice.
