Hi! I don't mean any disrespect whatsoever but please don't use nail polish remover on sterling. It could turn your sterling black and possibly damage it. You can, however, use rubbing alcohol to take permanent marker off sterling. Use it sparingly with a q-tip. It will generally work. Never use harsh chemicals such as bleach or household cleaners on precious metals or stones.😊

I always thought you needed to hold the stone in one hand and text it with the diamond tester with the other. I thought it worked by conducting thru skin - but you just had it on the table. Is that the same ?
