Yeah! It took me a while to fully grasp the mechanic. It's actually not phase specific, instead only locked blocks push back the fog, so inspiration or scrap runed blocks will always push back the fog. It just so happens that all blocks placed while a wave is happening are insta locked!
Love what you've got going with this game. We play very differently when it comes to pathing, which is fun to watch. Try setting some flamethrowers on least progress, it really ramps up that aoe effect. But if you do too many those front runners can sneak through!
@jameswright21 great tip, I've found that most vs least progressed for Flame Throwers depends a lot on where they get placed (is the corridor they're aligned with before or after them mainly). In some cases it seems like Most Progressed is still best if the enemies will make a turn right after they reach the tower.
While I agree it's smart to plan from the outside inwards to get the merge right, I feel like the actual building should start at the flame per default in order to maximize its damage output and having to remove fewer pieces. Or do you think the risk is too large having less time and space when enemies get through? Also, ofc there could be exceptions to make use of existing blocks or boost tiles.
@benjaminteuber4363 agreed... I think for me Gold Boost tiles are the ones that I'm most interested in maxing the value of which often causes me to put some of my defenses outside of the flame's range.
@bolts3catch so I haven't done the math here, but the buy low sell high strat, does it actually create a net positive in Gold? Like is it a way to invest gold that will later, with careful micro yield a better result? I haven't played with it enough but I feel like the range for Golden Roulette really means that best case scenario you get back what you spent and most of the time you lose a little?
I am loving this game. Please continue streaming this game❤
@oojikarasuma1 Emberward is definitely staying in the rotation, my #1 game at the moment in terms of just pure enjoyment!
You know u can push back the fog in realtime. When a wave is in progress each block pushes the fog back. Only the build phases pauses the push backs.

If you buy expensive towers, the sell value will stay high if the price goes down just in case you weren’t aware.
