In your head you draw a line around the map when you start the game. You draw the line so that it swirls and switches back and forth around the maze. Then you just build and block off paths that don't take that route.

I love NL and he plays well with towers but watching him put down the tetrominoes gives me the same feeling as watching those bad mobile game ads where they keep losing on purpose. It’s the best ad for the game I’ve ever seen.

Start mazing from near the fire, the games makes mazing super easy because it literally shows you the paths enemies follow. For tower placement, stage power ups are a trap, they will make you place your starting maze blocks awkwardly and make the first waves needlessly tougher. Towers should be placed so they cover two lanes, so they shoot at any enemies that make it through the killzone. A killzone a specified area where you concentrate the majority of your firepower, like you did with the ball lighting towers, but applicable to all towers. You can have multiple killzones when you get more resources, but for beginning waves, focus on one. Slows and any immoblization are extremely effective in all tower defence games, slower enemies means more time in the killzone so easier to kill. Forgot, mazing just means zig-zag pattern, forcing the enemies to move the longest distance possible. Preferably only 1 square to move and your blocks should be2, maybe 3, squares wide so you place the towers to maximize coverage. Cheap towers in this game can be just as good if not better than more expensive towers, since a 15 gold tower can be placed 5 times on 75 gold and you get only 1 big 80 gold tower. Tl;dr Universal tower defence principles
Not everyone put in dozens and dozens and dozens of hours mazing in WC3 where you had to be near perfect or else you let the whole team down and would get blasted by a roommate or random teammates… But I assume you and I did🫡
I'm gonna be honest I watched the last video and thought the exact same thing, I got the game and played it... the perspective honestly makes it kinda rough to see how thick different segments are... I fucked up multiple times. I think the game could benefit from a top down toggle or just the ability to shift the perspective to be a bit higher.
Don't think corridors: think stanchions. if you want to fit as many creatures in as small a space as possible so your turrets are in range of them for longer - snake the path back and forth to make it a nightmare for them. More turns means more better.
Im a huge roguelikes and TD fan and this game doesnt feel super high in synergy tbh. My number one ask is more relics with more substantial effects, and my runner up request is permanent buffs/modifiers for towers just like the nodifiers on blocks.
24:40 there are at least 4 prime spots for axe towers and he just doesn't see them... I guess isometric perspective isn't his thing, right after shapes. P.s. a U turn is 3-4 axes, a corner is 2 axes, if you actually place them.
