    Great demo Sir! But i'm curious after you having the Harlot for 6 years i'm wondering how you feel about it now. Do you still like it? I'm thinking of acquiring one for myself. Your input would be of great help. Thank you!

    Great video. I'm also a Keeley convert and have both Page and Harlot as the basis of my pedalboard. Just brilliant pedals, and Simon is such an awesome guy to deal with too.

    Great stuff! I'm a very happy Page, Minstrel, and Harlot user and I just can't say enough about Simon's work - simply superb! Thank you for exposing Kingsley so well to the world. Oh - and you're gonna love the Page! :)

      tpcoderre1 thanks so much!!! I really feel like they are underrepresented on RUclips so I'm trying to do my part to help people looking for clips and such before making a purchasing decision.
      I'm in the hunt for the page! It they practically never come up used. I'll have to get on Simon's list soon.

      How would you compare the Harlot and Minstrel?

    • @electricj5
      @electricj5 6 лет назад +2

      Jeremy Shirland the Minstrel is smoother with a slightly softer compression and more mid range push. The Harlot is more nasty and raspy and open on the top end. Both are amazing. Think Eric Johnson and Robben Ford vs Van Halen and ACDC.

    Nice demo! Thanks for sharing - I enjoy your channel. That one maybe was a bit too heavy on the delay?

    • @ToneJunkieTV
      @ToneJunkieTV  7 лет назад +2

      Haha noted. I usually turn off the delay for pedal demos but I've been playing and recording a lot of P&W stuff lately, and after awhile you stop noticing how wet things are.

    Great Demo, I've got a Harlot on order, 26 week wait right now. I ordered mine in early May and it's scheduled for delivery mid October. It's worth the wait. What's really cool is when I ordered mine I spoke to Simon directly. You should hear the amps, Simon told me there's a 3 year wait for amps at the moment. So order early... Cheers Brah!

    Subbed for the Kingsleys!
    I have a Harlot now modded for less bass. Love it. Hoping to add a Jouster soon....so, can't wait for the comparison video!

      @ToneJunkieTV  7 лет назад +1

      Krausewitz I have two jouster videos already on the channel if you are interested. Comparison coming later this week or early next week. Thanks for the supports.

      @krausewitz6786 7 лет назад +1

      Oh, trust me...I've seen your Jouster videos more than once! In fact, today I was noodling around and stole this thing you do in that video a few times playing a G (3-x-0-4-3-x....very nearly that lovely maj6 voicing, if you just moved your index over to the D string), going down to the sus2 with your index finger and then all the way down to the open G....lovely stuff. You get the same kind of motion in Zeppelin's Rain song (in the rocky bit at the end); not sure if you know what I mean.
      Anyway, great stuff so far. Loving it!
      (Wish this vid didn't have delay on it, though, to be honest...)

      @ToneJunkieTV  7 лет назад +1

      Krausewitz I hear you, a couple people have mentioned that. I have been playing a lot of p&w stuff and I've just been used to the washiness. I'll turn it off for the comparison.

    For those wondering if the Harlot can do heavy - I'm playing System of A Down on a Les Paul loaded with Duncan Antiquities through a Traynor YBA-1. Not only does it have more than enough gain, but it has that elusive "attitude" that a few tube OD pedals lack. I find myself lowering the gain on mode 3 because the full-frequency character of the preamp makes a bit of the gain unnecessary.

  • @franknguitars7671
    @franknguitars7671 7 лет назад +3

    On a different note - I am waiting for my first Kingsley pedals too. Since you seem to have almost all of them - do you have a preference between the Harlot, the Jouster and the Minstrel? From what I am hearing here, I think I liked the Jouster the best, but they all sound great! Some videos on the Jester were also brilliant. And man, those P90s are sweet sounding!

    • @ToneJunkieTV
      @ToneJunkieTV  7 лет назад +3

      Frank'N Guitars it's hard to choose a favorite. I actually have never tried them all head to head. I'm saving that for the comparison video! I really like the jouster and two channels is a huge plus but it does edge of break up and low gain stuff but it's actually hard to muscle those tones out of a box with so much gain. You're forced to really focus on picking dynamics to keep it from running away. The harlot and minstrel both do those sounds better I think. Simons stuff is just so good!

    Little late to the party here but did you end up trading in your gold JM for this blue one? I'm looking hard at a sunburst JM pro on sale with the s90s in burst.

    May I ask what your recording setup for the Kemper is? Do you go out of monitor out or main out? And into an audio interface? I love the Kemper but had less than stellar recording results ... ha ha, probably my bad playing :-)

    • @ToneJunkieTV
      @ToneJunkieTV  7 лет назад +1

      Hey Frank,
      Thanks for the support man! So in all my videos I am running all effects in mono so that both sides of the stereo main outs are the same. I then run the right side to the Friedman ASM 12 cab I am using to monitor in the room then I run the left side thru a scarlett 2i2 interface into Reaper where I also run a mic for my voice. I then chop up the mic audio to remove it during the guitar playing.
      Was it the guitar tone in your recording that you were unhappy with? If it helps I usually have the Kemper running it's master near 5 or 6 so it's a pretty healthy output signal. My scarlett 2i2's input is close to 0.

    • @franknguitars7671
      @franknguitars7671 7 лет назад +1

      Thanks a lot for your reply! Mmh, my setup is similar. I have the same Scarlett interface and run into GarageBand (that part should not make a difference). I have been running out of the Monitor out into the Scarlett. Did you have it on Line or Instrument level? I guess instrument if you say that you run it near zero?! My Master on the Kemper was also at around five. The recording was not totally terrible, but lacked depth and complexity that the Kemper normally has. It did not sound nearly as good as a mic'ed tube amp. Maybe the mistake was to use Monitor out instead of Main out? I will try your setup next. I also have an active Monitor to hear myself and a backing track that is playing at the same time.

      Frank'N Guitars Hold down the output button on the front of the Kemper and see what the monitor out output is set too.

    Hi HW, great work! Just subscribed! if you were to get either the Harlot or the Minstrel, what would it be. Taking in mind I already own the Page. What are the main differences, better or worse that you noticed? Thanks!

    • @ToneJunkieTV
      @ToneJunkieTV  7 лет назад +2

      Hard to say bro, I might pick the minstrel just because of its added flexibility with the EQ but if you already have the page doing a low gain thing you may want the harlot doing a high gain thing. Thats a real tough choice. What are you using it for? Also check out the comparison video on our channel we have a harlot vs minstrel vs jouster comparison. Maybe that will help.

      Mark Meyer hi mark! Yes I can't say any of them are more or less sensitive that the others. Check out the comparison video we just did on our channel!
