Great list. But, Honestly The Tale of the Shiny Red Bicycle scared the absolute hell out of me. I was young when I saw it, so the sad tragedy element didn’t really hit me that hard. All I saw was a creepy ghost boy who would unexpectedly show up at random points during the day to haunt his friend. The whole imagery of him by his bicycle is just chilling.
Crimson Clown's voice STILL sends a chill up my spine! Now that I think about it; they gave the clown monsters the creepiest voices! Dead Man's Float had such an unnerving sound cue for the Dead Man's presence; it was like the freaking Jaws theme!
The scariest ones for me were always Midnight Madness, Watcher's Woods, and Lonely Ghost. Still creep me out. I definitely think Dead Man's Float is inspiration for Night Swim.
the one with Zeebo the clown should had been number one in my opinion cause ever since childhood that clown has never left me and still visits me in my dreams but in a good way. let's just say not being able to see Zeebo the clown throughout the episode is what makes it work and more creepier. also this is the episode that most people remember and talk about. remember it was Zeebo the clown who started the whole phone call coming from inside the house before ghostface did it cause the movie scream wasn't even out yet. Zeebo the clown is also referenced in many other episodes as well such as the one with Crimson the clown where the boy buys a video game called Zeebo's big house with Zeebo the clown on it and he also showed up in the recent are you afraid of the dark movie as a quick cameo easter egg in the carnival for a few seconds. Pennywise the clown from the movie IT is nothing compared to Zeebo the clown.
I can’t remember the name of the episode that scared me as a kid. I don’t remember much of it tbh. When I was young I was really afraid of knives cus I had a few too many accidents from helping my mom in the kitchen lol. All I remember is a girl being restrained and a swinging blade just inches above her. I think it was some room that made your worst fears come true. These are all good episode picks, I remember most of them. I kind of want to go back and rewatch the series again.
We here in the uk didn’t get “dead man’s float” until the series had been out for many years (I guess due to how scary the monster was). But by the time I got to see it it wasn’t scary to me anymore
