- I ride across Tanzania to go to Burundi, because the border between Burundi and Rwanda is closed due to political tensions between the 2 countries.
I don't really like to be forced to do detours, and you can see on my mood in this video.

Thank u.
Just the sound and sight of warm wind blowing through woolly French legs.
Just found the channel, it's brilliant!
Dear friends,
Yves have been on the road pushing hard physically, you can't understand how is hard to keep calm and get correct responses when all the body is tired... ..let thank him for his vlogs, he is showing all the world the beauty of our landscapes.
Just try to pick positif in what he is living on the road.
Personne n'est parfait. Il restera dans l'histoire, je ne connais personne qui a déjà fait autant.
i agree
Je valide!

Yeah but the soda machine he was just about to start going in morning he was fresh
@rukundoSem250 he is not doing this for us he is doing it for himself. He is making money while traveling so thank him for what
Could you all please stop complaining about the "i am not a soda machine" remark. Yves has been very polite to everyone during his journey. He also learned the basics of the language spoken by the country he has visited and has been generous with his tips. This man doesn't deserve all the criticism you give him.
Bon voyage Yves!!!
💯
He's generous at times but he also can't help everyone, it's impossible. I also suspect there are times when he gives money that is not shown, so as to not create the impression of being an ATM for others to look for.
Yves is not 100% perfect don't cover bad things
@@janviermuhire689 I did not mean 💯 but was in unison of how pple expect too much from others!
@@janviermuhire689 never said he is perfect, hes just human and made a mistake. its hilarious that everyone is whining about such a tiny detail from his vlog. Everyone has been rude to one other at least once, just typical human behavior.
Your Swahili is coming good. Congratulations, Yves.
I think he knew quite lots of Swahili even before he visited East Africa
I'm not a soda machine 😢,That was not the best reply from you Yves.I can understand the frustrations that come with this African culture of borrowing. Since you've travelled widely, just let your social experience come up with better approach on this.Anyway still love your channel.🇰🇪🇰🇪
Ni wapi amesema ivyo you are lying
You're right and I think he often says very questionable and disrespectful things. Also his style, for example he explicitly advertised his Patreon account after he showed naked young girls pixelated.
French people are known for being rude😅
Nyii Ni mahater 😂... Yves ako Sawa
Criticize , both sides. bad manners begging from vistors
Everyone is complaining about Yves' responses to people asking for things. People need to understand that Yves has been travelling for two years and he has been asked for things a million times.
As someone who has travelled to countries where you get constantly nagged for free money, you get burnt out by it and desensitized. Totally understandable that his responses have become less friendly. Ask stupid questions s, get stupid answers.
He would have walked away. He's making money off the "poor" africans so he should show some respect.
So true, 17 trips to Kenya and I still get asked for free stuff, not even as a tip cos i do tip well for services, but randoms on the street that I dont know asking for money, bruh I have my own family here with me, hell no im not sponsoring your day and encouraging that behaviour, not one bit..
@@MoniqNansy he said it to himself, not to the lady directly. Also he's making money off of his efforts lol. Your governments are the one making money off of the people not Yves.

Life isn't free. Begging is shameful.
I have been following Yves since he was in Asia but I have found out that sometimes he behave bad towards people sometimes he has sarcastic answers to everything but in a way of looking down on people whenever they are asking him something just say no and move on man you don’t have to answer because sometimes I think you are just poor as those people asking you for money.lets us enjoy your adventure and respect us people watching and keep in mind that we follow this with our children STOP cursing all the time
I've been following you for maybe a year and have just realized you are about to do an interesting ride along the western border of Tanzania. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Best wishes from San Francisco California.
I wish you could post 1 hour video, i really enjoy watching this. I guess I'm not the only one with this wish.
Just when i think im having a bad day, i catch up with you and realise that challenges are part of reality, keep up with the motivation sights aand sounds. Your swahili is more than enough, i can barely speak 2 words in french, im happy to see how widespread swahili is in Africa, you have nailed the basics like the pro that you are, well done yves.
Been waiting for you all day. You driving me nuts

Proud to be Rwandan when i see how other countries' roads be like. But Please Yves be careful in Burundi. it is not well now. Yesterday, unknown thugs threw grenade in the market. Saying that you are from Rwanda in Burundi could hinder u and the situation could be not conducive to you. Good luck
This is recorded long time ago and " Yves Kino" is only uploading this parts time after time on youtube.
So he definitely survived if he is still uploading.
These vlogs are recorded for over months ago. I think he is now in other countries south. Look on his Ugandan videos, he was in Uganda during Christmas Eve but he just uploaded them months ago

Hi Yves,
The place you bought the Coke and the GUY said its Tsh1000, its Because he thought you want to buy a a take away Coke and not that he wanted to steal from you, He could have returned the Ts400,
But I can also understand why he was not bothered, Even Tanzanians pay more for food and Drinks reaching certain places and its okay to do so..
Enjoy your travel and as you travel try to understand how different people think -- otherwise it makes no sense traveling to all these countries and still want to judge and expect things in a FRENCH way... Be BLESSED

I am impressed how fast you learned your Swahili!
Felt sorry for the poor woman who was borrowing for a 'soda', though it can get irritating when everyone is asking for handouts, a dollar would have sorted her out.
A dollar given would make him no longer a millionaire a dollar received he would Maintain 😅his millionaire status plus on to making his second million..
@@gervanmyers3066 yh but giving a dollar to everyone that asks
Sincerely speaking 3 hrs will have been enough from Rwanda to reach Burundi and now look at how strenous it was
The guy in the shop, wanted to give you Take away cocacola which costs 1,000 Tanzanian shillings but you requested for the glass bottle, hence he gave you what you need... It is audible that the shop keeper is saying Take away, but you pointed the cocacola glass bottle which is not a take away bottle... Hence the shop keeper charged you 1000, the other cost is for taking the glass bottle that is usually returned to the shop after using the cocacola... Here in Tanzania beverages and Soda in the glass bottle are usually not taken away, they are suppose to be left at the shop
Welcome to Tanzania 🇹🇿 Yve❤ karibu sana
French people just like complaining 😂..but i don't know who will tell my people that actually not every white person has money some are traveling on tight budgets, but their media just portrays them as Filthy rich 😂😂😂
Even if they have enough money, it is THEIR OWN money. Nobody has a right to be asking for free money or soda or whatever. People must work for themselves 😏✌🏽😆😆😆
😂😂u know it better
That's a subjective statement, most white people are financially literate. Have you found those who are really rich splashing money. Let's stop stereotyping.
Try travelling on a KES budget for 2yrs without working then tell us first hand how 'not expensive' it is, yes? From thereon you will know that he is richso put some respect on his finances cos they sure ain't on the same level as most of us

Salut Yves,
Chapeau!
Everything changed after crossing border From Rwanda to Tanzania 😂😂😂

Like all of you I respect and appreciate this Vlog. However credit and criticism both have their rightful place when it's due. Yves had every right to edit his distasteful comment out of the final video. We would have been non the wiser, had he done so. It was insensitive to say the least. Own the rebuke. No one is perfect. You win some, you lose some. Keep pedaling Ives. I am enjoying Africa through your lens. You can't and won't please everyone all of the time. You are a class act, but you're not perfect. Own your flaws. Learn, grow and keep it moving.
The guy at the soda shop thought you are picking the takeaway coke. Its more expensive so i think thats why he charged 1000. Then you picked the bottle one and said you want to drink it at the shop.
It's good answer
@@LA7777777777 the takeaway one is is plastic bottle and it is 500mls vs the one he picked is just 350mls
@LA7777777777 Yes. In Kenya & there in TZ for example, if you are taking the bottle (notice it was not plastic) it costs more. They do recycle the bottles with the distributors when replenishing their stock.
The shop owner thought he was taking it to go and that's when they asked whether he was drinking it there.
600 or 700 for soda to drink at the shop.
He should then have refunded the extra change. Simple.
I WAS GLAD WHEN YOU SAID YOURE NOT A SODA MACHINE! LOVED THE REMARK!
Sometimes you are so mean
She asked for soda you could say that you don't have one. You don't have to be rude, she knows you are not a soda machine. Don't be silly man.

My friend: Bujumbura -Rumonge ;Rumonge to Kigoma, careful with *Rukonwe* coners at Nyanza-Lac -Mabanda!
You need to pass there very and very slow because of the sides mountains, this is secret my friend!
The Tanzanian who was asking for water, said to you while you were leaving! "MZUNGU TUPU" which means "A broke Mzungu" apologies from us in Kenya, Sorry for what he said keep on moving! Bro!
its better to be called broke than to be used like a tool, cheers
Another kundustan paddling lies I don't know for who's sake
He actually said 'OK mzungu Tupo' not tupu, western Tanzanians reply Tupo when you say goodbye to them, they say tupo like they're there (tupo) anytime you return or need them to assist you, the problem are Kenyans with no any record of speaking standard swahili is criticizing swahili owners, it's so funny 😂😂
I now understand now! Thanks for you response, I missed you when you were in Nairobi !

Welcome to Burundi 🇧🇮 Kino. we love u❤❤❤
Where is Akamba person from Kenya to say Kino.
The adventure that Kino embarked on is one of a kind,,, not even national geographic has these so when he gets agitated some times please understand him
This guy was asking a shelter as it was raining, but they did not ask him any money. People, someone is working day and night, but then u come and ask something as u have rights.
Begging is not bad, but let someone give from his or her heart. Big up Yves, none is someone's soda machines.
Yves, I have followed your channel for a while. There are nice helpful people along the way that never ask for anything and you leave them with no tip (an example is the poor family that sheltered you from rain in their mud house in Rwanda). Then we have those that ask but you respond to them rudely (this second category of course need to be ignored especially where no service has been offered). Is it a French culture never to tip or give to those that deserve it?
Why should he go around giving people money for doing nothing? If he did that, he would be bankrupt now, considering he has been asked probably 1000 times in Africa for money. If you want money, do something to earn it. And have a little pride.
I’ve noticed that he is a bit rude
Why should he just give people money? We Africans should not encourage this behavior.
It always escalate and our leaders end up asking for aid and give out valuable natural resources for cheap.
@@LA7777777777 read and understand before you reply. No one is asking him to go around giving out money.
@@keagleeagle821 who is saying “he should just give money”? You need to understand my question. Is it proper to get sheltered by a poor family in a mud house and just ride off? Why not decline their help if he has no heart to return their kindness? (if not to them to others) The pattern on his channel shows someone that’s completely disconnected from the needs of some people that are really kind to him.
Very sorry Mr Yves for this trip. But the border of RWANDA has no problem at all as you have said. It was the government of Burundi who decided to close the border. Be blessed always on the way 🙏
Ngo very sorry 😅😅
It's a pity how little brain some Africans have. Accusing each other in front of random foreigners like babies! Do you honestly think that anybody else sees you as different? Don't ever think that you are doing yourself any favours by making your brothers look bad!
But the main reason is Rwanda terrorizing the neighboring countries ( Burundi and DRC)
Am impressed by how well you speak Swahili… Kenyan taught you how to..❤
Morning Yves ! Looked like a brutal day on your trike .👍

I think in Tanzania when you dont look local, they make you pay extra! The only way to look lacal is to speak only their language without mixing , which is hard for foreigners.
Shopkeeper insisted him to take takeaway coke he paid for but he replied it's OK and took glass bottle which is cheaper, if you understand swahili
White people are very rude
Ariko ababyeyi, abayobozi kuki mutabuza abantu gusaba abazungu????
Countries of beggars. Hold your politicians accountable. I get ashamed every time they ask for money. I saw a case in Kenya, where a white guy was in a queue in a supermarket to pay for his supplies, the cashier had the nerve to ask him to skip the line, expecting to be tipped, sad.
Go in France in Paris...and meet French beggars🤣🤣🤣
Ooh my goodness, someone did that in our country?? I don't like people who beg anyhow
Stop being delusional and cooking things, if anyone is ask to skip a line is because the one in front is pay via Mpesa a transaction which take a while to complete.
From Kenya🇰🇪 we love you keeep going ....🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
Your videos would be even more impressive if they were available in 4K. The natural scenes you capture are truly breathtaking.
In America, they call it a tip while in Africa, they call it begging. Stop the rudeness Yves
Havent you ever been rude?
Wow wow ... Really Rude chill out ....just say no to the lady asking for a soda...
He did not fleece you... He charged you 1000 for a takeaway but you opted for the glass bottled one. There's a difference between a plastic Coke (which is meant for take-away) and a glass-bottled one. Though he should have offered you change. For the 1st time, I've seen you so fatigued. Its clear that the roads in Rwanda are the best than in many countries of Africa.
How many kilometers of paved roads do Rwanda have so that we can compare.

Because it's a tiny country, very easy to manage even the roads
@@mukizatiti6580 Rwanda has 1200km paved roads

U can see how simpler it can be to maintain. No heavy vehicles pass through Rwanda connecting to other countries while Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania face these challenges.
@@Designeroption guys b serious there is a reason Rwanda is ranked 3rd in Africa in road quality, 1st of all roads are more expensive on a hilly terrain because u have to blast trough some parts, make resilient drainage, build safety around edges and more. Uganda suffered with serving it's Burundian and Congolese market wen Rwanda closed it's borders to th extent of offering to build congo roads. Petit barrier on the Rwanda congo border is th busiest border crossing because Rwanda is th main link of eastern congo to the ports of dar and mombasa. And the point I made earlier still stands smaller countries have limited resources to build 1000s of kms just like a big countries wud struggle to do the same to 10000km of road, th burden is relative to size
