hey brother thanks for posting. i ws travelled with my son at this same type of JetKonnect flight from Chennai to Coimbatore. once again i feels that happy day while seeing ur post because my son was so enjoyed while the time of travel. may god bless you with many happiness in your life dear brother :)
ATR 42 is good aircraft. Nice for short destinations for may be 1- 2 hr flight. Almost like flying Jet Aircraft like A320 or b737. Flying ATR 42/72 will give idea to fly the Boeing and Airbus jets.
You were disappointed with the flight because of what? They did not entertain your request to see the flight deck? Post 9/11 do you really think they allow people to freely walk into the flight deck? You should know this by now. The flight attendant was probably being polite to you by say what she said but had no intention of asking the pilots about your request. They probably get this request all the time and never have the intention of fulfilling it. On the positive side this is a nice video of the flight. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you for watching my video. This is an old one, so I don't really remember much of the flight, but on my return flight (with the same crew), I was allowed into the flight deck, no probs. Moreover, India has different rules- the prohibition on outsiders entering the cockpit wasn't enforced until 2013, after a SpiceJet incident. I disagree with you that about the crew- I think the least they can do is say that it isn't allowed.
***** Hmm, may I receive a link to the rule you're quoting? So far to my knowledge in India, entry has been pretty unrestricted on the ground- I've gained entry a few times as well as friends of mine and plenty of other people on the internet, if you look at the many pictures online- pre-2013. After the incident I've mentioned, I'm pretty sure the DGCA passed on order banning the entry into aircraft flight decks. Which is something in itself, the IATA is a trade association not a regulatory authority unlike the FAA or the DGCA. Whatever rules and regulations in place over Indian airspace is taken care of by the DGCA first and foremost. You might wanna look more into DGCA regulations- you can find most on their website. Hope this helped.
Never ever ver fly in an ATR ..one of the scariest experience I ever had was when I was flying from Bangalore to kochi via kingfisher airlines..A slight cross wind is enough to shake this puny little plane off course
+Asterisk Dude I disagree, modern aviation is incredibly safe and the ATR 72 is also a very safe aircraft. Being buffeted by cross winds and or turbulence will obviously be more than a standard jetliner but I wouldn't stay away from the aircraft for that reason alone. Cheers!
Jet has to be the only airline company in india to have one of these old world propliners in their fleet. i haven't seen any other airline company in the country which own one of these birds. Nepal has such planes.
which seat would you recommend for taking video on this flight ATR 72 500? You had said in one of your videos that you carry some document that allows you take video on flight if anyone asks. What was that?
Oops sorry, you could carry the DGCA docs dated 2004 and 2005. While nobody is bound to ask you for these docs specifically. You could carry them with you in case somebody were to confront you on it.
This is on Jet Konnect, which is basically the low cost wing of Jet Airways, meaning no food and no drinks. Thankfully Jet Konnect no longer exists and even on short flights such as this one, Jet Airways serves food.
+Bob REX Jet Konnect doesn't offer any refreshments however having travelled on Jet Airways from Trivandrum to Bangalore I received a light breakfast sandwich, cupcake, sweets and a hot drink...
+vivek pilot If you're only evidence is 9/11, observation and not regulations issued by the DGCA or other authorities, I'm gonna have a hard time believing you. While of course, it is great to have an opinion, please don't mix it with actual facts and law. I highly suggest you to read through some of the articles on the DGCA website on aviation law. I say this with sincerity and no ill intention. Cheers!
+vivek pilot I don't think you understand what aviation law means. Whatever you may observe internationally is governed by laws of the respective government. In India we have the DGCA and all flights within India are governed by DGCA's regulations- absolutely nothing to do with India being chaotic or other such nonsense. And no need to bring racism into the context, especially on a domestic flight.
***** :I am a born aviation enthusiast and an IATA holder.I think I have enough knowledge about aviation.I have travelled in true international airlines journeys as long 6.30 hours. And if you sure that you can enter cockpit kindly enter and make a video and add it to your play list. And finally no racism is intended at all.All the best for your future journeys...Thanks
+vivek pilot My friend, experience or being an aviation enthusiast is not related to aviation law. If the law says its okay, in this case pre-2013 cockpit entry, and that too on the ground then it is perfectly fine. If the law forbids it, then it is not okay. Simple as that. I don't see how making a video as visual evidence is necessary when legal evidence is present. But, this is just re-emphasizing my point. I shall stop here, good day to you.
+vivek pilot i am cabin crew for an international (non indian) airline ... and in my airline passengers are allowed into the cockpit but only on ground when the engines are switched off and with prior permission from the captain

I enjoy flying the ATR 72. It is more comfortable than a regional jet. The seats are wider and the cabin is taller

karanshirwadkar84 Air India also has and even indigo and spice jet
karanshirwadkar84 spice too usee Bambara but jet was Using ATR as I works in IndiGo
almost every country has it. it is used for regional / short distance travels
Um, why is a engine shut down before reaching the gate?
i flew in jet connect from mumbai to ahmedabad, very poor service, after that never travvelled jet connect.
ashok jeswani and I am sure they are crying LOL.
Had a horrible landing experience in jet konnet from kochi to bangalore last year
How was the experience, comparing with A320?
An A320 would be much more comfortable due to the size. Also more stable during turbulence
which seat would you recommend for taking video on this flight ATR 72 500? You had said in one of your videos that you carry some document that allows you take video on flight if anyone asks. What was that?
Nobody will ask for any document 📄
You can shoot video 📹 without any permission.
Thousands of people do that
+Andromeda Mandakini Thanks!!!
Andromeda Mandakini You can find my Travel Video by searching

Most Short-Haul flights don't offer complimentary meals or snacks, but most do serve non alcoholic drinks.

None can go to cock pit except the pilots & crew.None get permission to enter a cockpit any more as we are in the post 9/11 world.
