- This Hopf violin showcases the work of the well-known German Hopf violin-making family and workshop. Its square design, wood selection, and varnish are characteristic of its provenance. The top is made from medium-grained spruce, and the one-piece back features maple of light flame. The instrument is in excellent condition, with minor cosmetic wear and no history of major repairs. It produces a warm, silvery sound with a pleasing texture. The high notes are clear and singing. Comfortable to play and well-balanced, it is an excellent choice for advancing students.
