Spearfishing for Grouper Sept 6, 2024

Spearfishing for gag and scamp grouper during the 16 day Gulf of Mexico gag grouper season. Weather was rough with showers all day with 2-4ft seas and the occasional 5-6ft swells made for a slow ride out. Thankfully the seas laid down mid afternoon for a nice evening dives and decent ride in.
We saw a dead shark on the first wreck and speared a nice gag out in the sand at 110ft.
Made some dives in deeper water on natural bottom that was covered with grouper. This was of my favorite dives to date not just because I speared my personal biggest scamp grouper at 23.1lbs!! But also the gorgeous water, we saw lot of grouper and I thought the limestone natural bottom was spectacular to see.
