Domestic appliances in the US are huge! When I went there I was surprised by the size of cookers, washing machines, and so on.
A little trick regarding the shower (have not used it myself yet, but found it pretty interesting) is to go the gym. It is no free, but allows to have a shower and do yourself up.

Four stop signs is a called a " Four way stop" 😋normally it is the first one to the stop. Goes first. Normally the one to your right goes first if he came first. 👋🇺🇸

You're pretty much right. Some Americans just don't fully understand I guess. My roommate does the same thing hahaha
When two cars arrive simultaneously at a 4-way stop sign, the car on the right (from each drivers perspective) is the car that passes through first. It’s said they have the “right of way”. If you pass thorough Santa Cruz on your way north you should stop an see The Mystery Spot. It’s fun and quirky amusement park! I used to live in the Silicon Valley (Mountain View), I live in Ohio now. Take care.

Wow! You are so brave. Monterey is pronounced Mont-a-ray, and the blinking red light is the same as a 4 way stop sign where who ever gets there first gets to go, if 2 get there at the same time the car on your left gets to go. You could google the traffic rules in California. America always scares me because you never know when you anger the wrong person because they may have a gun and anger issues. Stay safe!
Blinking Red Light is stop and go
Blinking red lights are to be treated like stop signs. At a 4 way stop intersection, the first to arrive at the intersection goes first. If, say, 3 arrive all at once, the one on the furthest right side has priority. My solution-if you see you’re going to arriving at a 4 way stop at the same time as other cars, slow down a bit so it’s not so confusing! :). It actually doesn’t happen often that everyone arrives at once.
Also, I hope you had a decent experience in San Francisco. It used to be very nice but not so much now, I hear. Doe to a lot of problems in California now, we moved from there to the eastern coast of the US in 2021. It has been a big improvement in our lifestyle. California had a lot of natural beauty but a lot of issues, sadly.

San Francisco region looks like Portugal
A blinking red light is like a stop sign. When at a four-way stop (with signs) you go in the order you arrived. If you arrive at the same time the car on the right goes first. I don’t know what you do if all four arrive at once! Doesn’t usually happen. It looks like your enjoying your CA vacation.
