Brilliant Jason. Your Stihl machine is brilliant. I have the Stihl cordless scarifier and it works fantastic and made me loads of money. I LOVE STIHL!!!!
a friend asked me just yesterday if I knew if moss being yellow and grass green after this winter is normal, I did not know. Now I can re-assure her her lawn is ok and not affected by worms or chemicals in the atmosphere. Thank you!
Thanks Jason, That’s useful to know. I think I’ve let the machine dictate the pace somewhat as I thought slowing it down too much would cut more in to the lawn. Maybe I need to hold it back a little more. It does a great job but wondered if my machine was incorrectly set up from new. I guess you just have to judge the conditions and depth of moss on each lawn. Great videos btw.
Hi Jason, That’s a great job done. I have the same scarifier. Are you holding back on the drive of the machine as mine just seems to want to go too fast. I also find I can only use it on the first level down as any other level is just too destructive to the lawn. What level were you using it on?
Thanks mate 👍. Yes holding it back, I had it on no.2, iv gone as low as no.4 in past, but it turns into a rotator, but did that when setting wildflower mix into lawn, but generally no.2 is my lowest set and no.1 on first pass sometimes👍👍
Good to hear the dulcid tones again!!
Thanks aussie 😊
Always amazing at what we get out, very therapeutic and I think the lawn enjoys it as much as I do!
It's definitely one of them jobs, where we think.how much waste and then have to double it 😆, it's a very satisfying job to do.
Cheers mate 👍
@@jasongardener3425 Exactly and yep I really enjoy it!

@@jamesdavies9520 thanks mate, unfortunately not, as its not a properly I maintain, I did it for another gardener 👍
Wild. Never seen that before.
Wild ?, don't really understand
Can you scarify if the turf is netting backed? And which Stihl scarifier are you using? Thanks
I would imagine the netting is 25mm below the surface, on as long as you don't go to deep, it would be fine, just touching the soil to be safe 👍

Great channel, what scarifier are you using?
Thank you, much appreciated mate 🙂, it's a stihl RL 540 scarifier 👍👍
If I want to plant a Leland hedge to keep it cut about 8 feet tall maybe a little taller and I want a hedge. What spacing should I plant them?
Around 18-20 inches gaps
@@jasongardener3425 thank you so much. Love your videos
What was your method for getting up the moss once lifted with the machine? Also what type of grass was in that lawn?
Cleared up with rake and blower, not sure on type of grass, just a fine grass I believe 👍👍
nice one J 👍 must be a bit drier where you are.hoping to start scarifying next week 👍
Cheers geordie mate 👍.
I'm mostly on sandy soil, which is good for drainage in winter, but not good in summer, hope work is busy mate 👍🙂
Always amazing how much waste comes from these jobs. Nice one Jason 👍
After all these years, I still find it amazing how much comes out, and how quick them bags will heat up 😆, cheers Nathan, have a good week 👍 🙂
@@jasongardener3425 they make a nice warm seat for an afternoon break 😅 you too mate, hope the weather improves this week🤞
